Default Chlorine + Leather = Bad

So I try my best to take care of my leather seats in the hot arizona, dusty desert. I wipe them down, use a great cleaner and conditioner with low PH. I ended up swimming in a pool last night with FAR TOO MUCH CHLORINE, and this morning when I got back into my car, my wet swimsuit got the leather wet and then it dried all hard and brittle on the seat where my behind was sitting on.

What could one use to remedy this??

I'd probably start with a good leather conditioner. Should help soften them back up.

I'd also start with toweling off better after getting out of the pool.

And/or putting something on the seat before you put yer sopping wet keister on it :P

My back seat did this with a bit of water leakage. Opened up the hatch all the way after a heavy rain and water dripped on the seat. I didn't know, didn't clean it up ... and that was the result.

Let me know if the leather cleaner works for you.

I got a set of Red/Black Sport Seats and have found this stuff is great. It's not cheap, you work it into the seat with your hands. A massage really and let it toast a bit in the heat, then use their cleaner. This is the same company that has the dye etc. that Marvin's Dad used on his seats. Good stuff and good folks to deal with. Check it out

and yeah a towel on the seat for sure
