Default Deep Clean for Leather?

My first time with leather seats. I love and hate them at the same time.

I've used an awesome (or so I thought) product from Autozone, its a low ph cleaner and conditioner, all in one.

Over the year, I think I have put a very thick layer of residue on the seats. They are getting harder and harder to clean, looking more dirty, and the heat is baking them.

What can one use for deep cleaning leather? I'm thinking a soft bristle brush and some hot water, but I'm not sure? Like I need to get deep down into the leather to get all this cleaner/stuff out before I clean or use other products on it...

Thanks

I use a magic eraser and a little dawn/water to get all the dirty buildup off on my colored parts(well gray, but same as your colored parts lol) and a microfiber to dry them, it gets them freakishly clean, and they were yucky dirty (almost brown) when I got the car, then I use Lexol conditioner... Be gentle on the arm rest...

The Mr. Clean Eraser thing. I tried it once but was worried it would be too abrasive

I have had no issues, it works insanely good and I do scrub in some spots and it hasn't ever done anything, been doing it for 2 years, I did my mom's Lincoln too, worked wonders... I use a little Dawn Dishsoap/Water, not to strong but it lifts the grime really good... HOWEVER, it is a very sneaky thing lol, its doing alot more work than you think so be careful with it I guess... I don't know how it would be on the Colored seats, I don't see it causing any problems really if your gentle at first... DON'T USE IT ON YOUR STEERING WHEEL...

Why not on the steering wheel? I'd probably just have to rinse it really good.
I was thinking of using the boars hair brushes, or soft bristle brushes, like the ones you buy for polishing leather shoes/boots??? So it aggitates well but is still very gentle?

That's what I use!
Restored the 2000 Sport seats that I got before I dyed them.

CAn you use the Dawn dish soap to clean the seats and then use the conditioner to they don't dry out and crack? Mine are already beginning to crack on the back part of the drivers seat.

Leatherique Restoration, no lie people this is the best and it keeps improving the leather as it works in. It's a bit pricey but how long do you want your seats to last? Check it out and it's easy to use.
Remember leather is skin with pores etc

Is there a certain process you do?

Or just... a little magic eraser with some soapy dishwater and away you go?

Well I can say this much, magic eraser + leather color concept seats = bad.

I went VERY gently across the seats, and the dirt was coming up,

But so was my factory yellow dye

So this means I'll have to have them re-dyed at some point cause now the yellow on the drivers side is.... paler than it should be.

That's ok though, I've been considering having the leather ripped out anyway and having it replaced with either a nice durable color-matched pleather (nobody would noticed the difference), or , a nice stain-proof, breathable, fabric of some sort (also color matched).

So I'll still have color concept seats, I'm just tired of the leather. it's too hot in the summer. It doesn't breathe at all. And it's so hard to keep clean. Yellow leather is just.. NASTY to keep clean.

We'll see where this summer takes me. I need to have one of the bolsters fixed in the drivers seat, so maybe that will be a good time to have them reupholstered.
