Wink I'm telling you guys....ICE products by TURTLE is the best and only way to go.

Hi.... I just spend some "bonding" time with my baby beetle last week while I was cleaning, washing and waxing it. It was really good... Specially because I was using some products for the first time. I tried (in the following order):

1.ICE car wash
2.ICE clay kit
3.ICE paste polish

Also, I tried
4.ICE total interior care for my dash
5.ICE tire shine.

FYI: I have no investments in the company; I am just a regular consumer that liked a lot the products he bought.

Here are some picts that I took before and after each tretment. Again, it was my first time....So maybe and hopefully next time it will look much better and it won't consume over 3 hrs of my time ...

Default One more thing!

the picts order is: dirty picts first, then after clay treatment, and finally the end product after waxing.

One more thing:

As you can see in some picts, I have some rusty parts on my wheels. I have seen people use to paint them as the same color as their cars....I think i will like to do that as well. Does anybody knows how much will that cost? where should i take my car to get it done?

Those are the picts of my baby beetle the way it is right now...I have in mind to get the windows tinted, put some vent visors on which i got already from autoanything.com and then a good stereo system....

I will keep you guys updated!

What the heck is that thing on your front bumper?

Anyway my friend is a huge fan of Turtle Wax products also and occasionally we'll detail together. There are better alternatives to every single Turtle Wax product I've tried from tons of companies. Any consumer wax is going to make your paint shiny so the pics don't really say a whole lot.

Definitely do some reading on detailing forums and you will hear from the pros what the best of the best stuff is. I've read through a lot of "products I use" posts by professional detailers and there hasn't been a single Turtle Wax product mentioned.. ever.

There's the occasional Meguiars product (pro waxes, etc) and rarely something from Mothers (usually clay) but most products that are the absolute best are from obscure companies most people have never heard of. I've been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to order a lot of this stuff locally / online and put it to the test. The professional stuff is always nicer, applies better, lasts longer. I'd never go back to crappy hardware store brands again and there is definitely no one-stop company that makes the absolute best of everything.

Good job on the detail! Looks sharp!!!

In regards to SMG's comment, as long as the user is happy, there's nothing wrong w/ over the counter products. In fact, I gave super high praise for Meguiar's NXT 2.0 in my other thread

Yes, professional products (of which I've tried quite a few) are definitely better, but they are also a lot more expensive, and is maximized only with a proper detail (wash, clay, polish, glaze, seal/wax), which is more than what most want to go through, lol.

If you're just gonna go wash to wax w/o doing a machine polish, I'd say stick with over-the-counter products like the op's recommendation of Turtle's ICE. Cuz if you're really into detailing, you know that the secret to a great shine is in the polish, not in the LSP (last stage protectant, aka sealant or wax).

Yea me and my friend started using ICE car wash this summer and it's really sweet. I like how you can tell when it has gone on well by the way the water just falls off the car, it never beads up, so you can see if there is an area you have to wash again or watever.

I mean, obviously the stuff the professionals use is better, but i don't really think it's fair to compare that stuff to consumer products. You don't say "I know you like that NB GLS, but it doesn't come close to an RSI. get the RSI next time, it's much better." Yea, an RSI is better no doubt, but it's also about twice the price, and just more than some people need.

But SMG, i am glad you made your post because for those who are up to the task of doing a higher level of car detailing/cleaning (such as yourself,) knowing that there are products out there that blow the supposed 'best' shelf washes etc. out of the water, may be very important information to them.

That NB is sitting pretty btw, nice wash

the ice stuff isn't a bad product for what it is. of course SMG is right, you're not going to go pay $150 for a detail and have them use turtle wax, but that's the way it is with anything pro vs diy.

i have some turtle wax in a green squirt bottle that i love, it's by far not the best wax out there but i like it because it doesn't leave any white residue, so i can do a quick job and there's no messy aftermath. that works for me, but some people may not be satisfied with it and more willing to work with the white residue clean up.
