Default Soft touch sucks.

I've started removing mine, so far so good. I got a product called "Awesome" from dollar general and a green scrubby pad. If you don't know what soft touch is, it's that crap in your interior that's peeling.

If your's isn't peeling, consider yourself blessed.

This chemical is rather potent, i'm rather high and if i breath in around it, it's similar to horse radish. This takes a long, long time to do, if patience isn't your virtue, i suggest you don't do it. Do not try anything other than this product as it will eat the plastic. Ask me how i know.

people have had luck with nail polish remover too. still stinks, but probably more bearable.

i'm pretty lucky, the only part of mine that is peeling is on the bottom edge of the trim around the speedometer. it's basically nothing.

Got it done, and the pad scratched the plastic, i used rubbing compound and still couldn't get the scratches out. I said screw it and used some black paint i had laying around, unfortunately rattle can because i had no reducer or harder for the car paint i have. Went to Wal-Mart and found some new type of clear coat called "Glaze". It's meant for clay pottery that's porous and fills in the imperfections. It's cloudy, but as it's drying, it's becoming amazing looking. Used half a can on the center console, this stuff is sticky like car paint and goes on thick (used only 3 coats).

Hmm, this turned out quite sexy, almost like actual automotive paint.

haha. well, looks good so far you can get away with glossy black because your car is black, so it's like "colormatched" basically.

wow that's pretty cool. So you basically just clear coated the bare plastic and got a glossy painted effect?

You actually could if you get the plastic looking good enough, but i laid a semi gloss base coat to hide some things.

Looks pretty sweet, think I'm gonna go with a satin finish versus gloss think the gloss will give off to much glare at night but nevertheless that looks sweet.

Doesn't glare, i thought the same, i wanted satin, but it didn't look near as good to me.

Probably the door handle things as well. Other than that, i'm not motivated to do the rest, way too much work.
