Default Sand! Ugh!

I went to the beach yesterday and made SURE that I got most of the sand off of myself and my belongings before getting in the car. My friend, however, took no care and I didn't realize it until she was in the car. My passenger seat (leather + sand?! NO!) is covered in sand and so is the black carpet. Any ideas on how to really get this clean? I've vacuumed a little but a lot of the sand is ground in.

A couple ideas - You should try going to a carwash and using that vacuum, they usually have way more suction. I have a Dyson Animal vacuum and it gets sand up great. Maybe someone you know has one you can borrow.

I was also going to recommend a Dyson Animal. It's how I got the sand out of my black carpet. Then I shampooed it and that got the marks from the wet sand out.

Also a shopvac might work better than a regular vacuum.

What is a Dyson animal vacuum and where on earth can I buy one? I need this item. I have used every car-vac known to man and have spent much $$ on various types that don't do jack for sand OR animal fur.

Okay, got it. Checked out the DYSON website. All models listed there, including two small hand held models which will work perfectly for my bussines. I can carry them around in my trunk along with all my other tools. They are pricier (?) than other brands, but with two recommendations on this post I'm assuming they are very good. I need a strong and powerful hand held for the work I do. Thanks!

The Dyson Animal is the best vacuum I have ever had. It picks up pet hair and even their dander wonderfully. I borrowed my sister's for a week before I got mine and I couldn't believe the difference. I have three dogs and the Dyson Animal is well worth the money.
