I always take mine off at the car wash. But, I go through the "tunnel" type car wash. Gets the car clean, the wheels shiny, but it's hell on the mirrors and antenna.
Better safe than sorry. ![]()

Your antenna will probably be safe..........not so sure about your paint. How much time can you not spare to give the Dub a proper handwashing?

I'd take it off too ...
When I can't give Zoomer a proper hand washing, I go to the touch-less washes. Last time I went though, something drug across the top of my roof (back to front) and pushed my antenna backward. Causing a loud pop noise. So, I assume it can rip it off.

not too sure why people would even go through a touchless car wash? some of them will really screw up your rims, and the spinning brushes can get full of dirt and act just like a sander and scratch your paint all up. not too mention rip any trim(moldings) off the side of a car.. if you cannot hand wash just try a sprayer type. just my opinion though

Hand wash your car and it will love you for it.

Last time I used a touchless, I was fine, but Matt wasn't.
Caused his emblems on his wheels to chip off and now his wheels are bubbling and flaking...due to high pressure wash and salt from being a former Michigan car. Hand wash really is the way to go. Touchless car wash, as said above, will scratch paint, leave dirt spots, the tracks the wheel goes into can wreck a wheel too. I heard it will also hurt wax on the car and if you don't wax it...then it'll hurt the finish on the paint and eventually fade it. ![]() See if there is a place where someone can hand wash it for just a little more instead. Otherwise, the antenna won't rip off in the car wash. It's screwed in, so unless it's already mostly out...it shouldn't rip off. It may bend a lot and cause a noise when it bounces but it won't rip off...to my knowledge anyway. I haven't had any issues, but I only hand wash now.

No, it's not safe. The wife takes Daisy through the car wash often. First 3 or 4 times she did, no problems. But after a few it pulled the antenna out, causing the base to crack. And that was even a shorter stub antenna. Now we have a broken base we can't find anywhere and crappy FM reception. Luckily Daisy has XM, lol.
