Question HELP....Trunk rug accident - 2009 beetle

A HUGE bottle of Fabric softner was in my trunk and the lid was not on and it spilled all over my trunk rug... (96 oz) the smell is orange snuggle and I have no idea if the rug can be lifted out and it wipped out. I looked thru the manual and did not find anything. I currently have the windows down and the bug is sitting in my driveway. I cannot take the smell.

PLEASE HELP ME...

I would just try to get the carpet out by any means. It should just pull out, maybe some spots glued, but not sure.

Just keep rinsing it a tub of water?

Might be some of the stuff in the spare tire well.

Good Luck

FIrst off, I would go to a coin operated car wash. They usually have VERY STRONG vacuums. Suck up any excess moisture. If it has dried, move to step two. Use a solution of white vinegar and water. This will remove the odor. Suck up this solution with the vacuum. Once you have removed the excess, towel dry as much as possible. Let this dry and hopefully you will have gotten rid of the smell pretty much. Obviously the carpet will dry faster in warm weather. HOpefully you live in California! I am an auto detailer and this has worked for me with many smelly things spilled on car carpets. Good luck!

The up side is you'll have very soft trunk carpet! LOL
