Default Cleaning G12 from engine

While I absolutely love the smell of cooking G12, my engine being snow white doesn't look too hot. I had a large incident where my lower radiator hose split in two, so G12 was sprayed all over my engine. Let alone that, I've had a hose leak leaving white speckles over the majority of it prior to that incident.

Any advice? Or should I not bother?

Take the car for a good drive and get it good and hot. Cover the alternator, air filter (if open element), coilpacks, battery, etc. Basically cover anything electrical with plastic bags.

Let it cool down for a few minutes and load it up with foaming engine cleaner and use a soft bristle brush to agitate all of it so you're wiping the G12 away. Rinse well with a hose. Done.

Repeat if necessary and don't use a pressure washer.

Careful of the plastic bags on anything hot enough to melt them, or you'll be trying to clean that off too! lol

I love it when a plastic bag blowing in the wind is attracted to my car like a magnet. It goes under and doesn't come out the back of course and is soon followed by the aroma of burning plastic stuck to the exhaust pipe.

Does this only happen to me?

No it's just common sense. Why would you drive around with bags on your engine?

By the time you're ready to wash it everything will be cool enough to not melt the bags but will radiate heat for a few hours and let it dry out.

After you clean it off spray some degreaser on there, it'll make your engine nice shiney and all the plastics and hoses will be nice and black again. It'll look brand new!

Goodluck!
