I was reading another member's post about waxing your headlights? I assume this is to prevent heavy oxidation.
What product, and how is it applied? Or is this a bunch of shenanigans? Curious, as I have my brand new headlights in, and I want to protect them. ![]()

Kelly,
The item I sent you to is a sealer, not a wax. I deal with commercial polycarbonate products (the material yours, and everyone's headlite lenses are made of), and a sealer is a real good idea. All materials are porous to some degree, even glass. Filling in and sealing the pores, prevents pollutants from entering these pores and causing deposits and damage. A sealer may or may not really provide ultra-violet protection, that's debatable in my mind. Wolfgang's product is the last in a three step process of polishing up old lenses and doesn't contain any polish. If you want to go a step further then use both products, kind of like clay-baring your paint, before applying a sealer, even when it's new. I'm getting ready to use the whole kit to detail the ones on my '05. They are not bad now, but I don't want them to get that way. Btw- do it to all your light lenses, not just the headlights. Details and protects. MORAV |
