Not true. Just about every clay bar I've bought, even states to mix soap and water, to use as a lubricant. I've been claybarring for 11 years, have always done it that way, and have never once had an issue.

Yeah, I have read the same thing too on many bars but I haven't had one issue with using water/soap. I always wondered if it was just a ploy from the companies to get people to spend more money buying their lubricant.

I'm not sure if it's a sealer/wax but it's definitely a polymer-based spray wax that helps repel water like most of the paste wax would do. I had some doubts at first but it turned out working really well. Its easy-on application definitely helps when a quick detail is needed, especially when it rains a lot here in Oregon.

Here's how I *think* it should work....but correct me if I'm wrong: Wash/Dry Clay Bar Sealer Wax

Here's the process I use:
1.) Wash with dish soap (ONLY time you want to do this, is when stripping off old coat of wax) 2.) Claybar 3.) Wash again (with normal car wash soap) 3.) Dry 4.) Use wax / polish of your choice |
