Hmm, so is the soda on the mat, or the actually carpet stuffs?
I had my trunk leak from not closing it all the way, and now i have water stains on my back seat. It makes me so sad when i see it. If you get any help with that, let me know. |

SUGGESTION: Get a new boyfriend who knows how to use his hands around you. "Ol' Fumble Hands" should be figuring out how to clean your carpeting, not you. What's wrong with that guy?...

The "Rug Doctor" units that you rent from Home Depot are the bomb when it comes to getting rid of those nasty stains. Pick a nice sunny day, rent the cleaner and do the whole interior with the upholstery attachment and leave the doors and windows open for a couple of hours so it dries. It really brings back your carpet and is pretty good at getting rid of stains. I have done quite a few of the cars I've owned (that's alot) and never had a bad experience.

That happened in my Passat wagon, but it was baked bean juice !
I mixed up a solution of Oxyclean and water, sprayed generously, let set for a minute or two, scrubbed with a stiff bristle brush, vacuumed, repeated again, dabbed dry and then completely dry and it looked like new. Try it, it's simple, cheap and won't hurt the fabric in your carpet or upholstery if you have a cloth interior ![]() |

Even better than renting a big machine for a day... buy one of the Bissell little grean compact steam cleaners (it's about $80 Cdn. here). They are amazing for getting out stains... I have light grey cloth interior in my car and since I've gotten the Bissell, I can finally keep all my carpets and interior spotless.
For really stubborn stains, just go to a store and look for a cleaner that is good for stains like blood, oil, chocolate etc. (really bad things to get out), spray the cleaner all over the cola stain (let it soak in for 10+ minutes) then use the Bissell on it. Honestly, I've managed to get out oil, dirt and even old salt stains on my carpets, I can't imagine cola being much more difficult to get out than these. Good luck, Dale |

I ready somewhere that for leather cleaning, you can use a 6:1 woolite and water. But please test it first before going all out on the seats. As for the carpet, not sure...sorry. |

Before you rent a rug cleaner w/attachments to do your vehicle, get one of these and keep it loaded w/solution. I picked this up 2 years ago from Amazon for 50 bucks (free ship then).
This has saved me so many times. Especially the time I got 3&1 oil on the carpet.. It works great in vehicles too. It is better for emergency cleaning than whole car cleaning.. but will remove those, oops I was sitting on chocolate for 3 hours and its now part of the seat. It was a huge help when I left my windows down during a 3+ inch rain storm one day. I can't count the number of times I would have been SOL with out this. |
