Default Dashboard confession

After washing and waxing my NB, I decided the inside was well overdue for a good scrubbing. So I steamcleaned the seats, floors and headliner, washed the windows and door panels. Then I got to thingking, why is it every time I clean the dashboard it turns out runny and streaky?

So my question iwhat do you use to clean and polish your dashboard with? Armour All sucks, I can't seem to think of anything else to use

Armor-all gets streaky because our dashs are a flat surface compared to the other 99.9% of cars made.

I dont armor-all my dash.

If it requires more than a dusting, i use either a damp rag, or comebine it with some sort of cleaner. I've used Armor-all all surface cleaner, stoner Xenit, and even a bucket with water and laundry detergent (for when i do the whole interior )

If you want a shiny dash, there's nothing really you can do coating-wise. You could paint it black and add a few clear coats, and then wax it. That'll make it all glossy for ya. And it'll stay glossy for a loooooong time.

I've had good luck using windex streak free cloths (I've evolved from the spray and papertowel) to do an occasional wipe down of the dash.. Just use caution when using cleaners on thing with painted labels like radio, buttons etc. I have seen cleaners start to take off the writing. I always just use a damp cloth for these items.

And if you dont have a cali-duster.. ya got to get one NOW!

And how did that explosion clean everything for you????

HEHEHEHEHE I guess thats better then a can of soda.

lol they have those microwave wipes now that you place in the microwave and explode them and the steam loosens the junk and then you wipe all the junk off... we should invent that for a car. I think you are onto something!

To add a sheen use black paste shoe polish. You can do the bumpy rubber also. Wipe off excess, buff with cotton towel.
