I have used Nu Finish on many cars in the past and have always liked it.

With Natasha I went with Meguiar's. I tried their Scratch-X and was not impressed at all with it. It shines nice but did little to "remove" any of my light scratches or swirls.

I like my Zymol but I'll give the black magic a try. I love the tire wet gel they make, too bad I can't find the gel anymore

I'm not sure how trustworthy CR is anymore.

I have lost faith in Consumer reports. I have been burned following thier stats on a number of occasions.

1) Nissan Altima came highly recommended and was rated extremly reliable. Well 3 alternators, several batteries, a dash ecu that mysteriously hit the carpet, tranny trouble and a myrid of other problems. I wrote it off as a fluke.

2) Infiniti G20... rated as thier most reliable car ever. The car was fantastic untill a tie rod snapped at 55,000 miles causing it to lose control. Hit a Jeep Wrangler and roll over causing my wife to get some 20+ stitches in her arm where it hit the pavement.

3) 1997 Honda Civic EX. We owned this treasure for 6 whole months. First the tranny went, then the slider for the heat controller, then the cd player, the window switch and the kicker? The cars paint started pealing on the trunk and started to rust.

They trash VW's, Jeeps and several other vehicles I have owned that have been flawless. I'm not convinced they have a frickin clue as to what actual quality is.

Same here. I've tried Nu Finish before and thought it was OK but I really love my Tech wax. I've tried about 6 different types of wax and the NXT Tech wax is by far the best. Those CRs are just plain

I think some of these things are too subjective to accuratly be judged and that is why y'all are dissappointed with CR recommendations. Things like wax are to hard to pin down exactly. I got a free sample of the NXT wax from some where last year. I thought it was the worst crap I had ever used, I gave the rest away to someone I didn't like.

Turtle wax!! Its the BEST!! I love it!

Tip: Use only the hardshell wax and not the liquid bottle type. Not the same as the classic Turtle Wax.

Not sure if you guys remember, but there is a product that has been out for a while called "The Wax Shop". These guys and turtle wax have merged and turtle wax makes both of them now. I think CR goes on the life of the wax. Meguires is a dang good product but doesn't last very long. Usually after about 4 or 5 washes it is about gone. Anything paste will last longer than anything liquid. I use the carnauba waxes. I wouldn't recommend the new "Teflon" waxes. Anything that penetrates the paint really isn't that good for it. It will make water bead like hell though.

With my Jetta, I always used my red can of "Mothers", I was at my friends house once and forgot to bring it and I used hers, which was the Black Magic (liquid), I was not impressed. (my car was black and it looked okay after using the black magic)

I was looking at my supplies today, because I am Claybarring BB this weekend (I hope) and my can of Mothers wouldnt open LOL, so I tossed it and bought the Meguiars nxt generation, Ive seen Ginas car pepper in person, and can't wait to try it myself.

I am thinking of taking some before and after shots....

Anyways, I was not please with how Black Magic turned out.
