Angry My bug in accident

Not sure whether to put an angry or unhappy face for this thread

I've only filled my baby up 4 times, and this morning, as I'd just turned the key in the ignition, my head hit the backrest because someone had just crashed into us

Actually, the kid hit the parked car behind us, which rear-ended us, and then sideswiped my bumper. I haven't really stopped shaking yet, (it's now 13.47, and it happened at 07.30) and I have whiplash, which is getting worse by the hour.

So gutted, to see my baby in that condition, but kinda glad I hadn't yet had the chance to put all my upgrade plans into action. I went up just now to take some photos, just incase, and an old mate stopped to say how he'd been admiring her the last few weeks, and how tidy I keep her (he hadn't known she was mine). Proud, and gutted, and angry, how can you feel so many emotions about a car so soon, and at the same time???

Also very lucky - 30 seconds before the cars hit, my partner was cleaning the back window. If we'd left the house a minute earlier, he would now be in hospital.

Ouch...that would make me cry. Sorry about your neck, glad it wasn't worse, because if someone had been standing back there they possibly could have lost their legs, if not their life.

Hope all is better for you both SOON!!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Take care of your neck, that whiplash can really mess you up. I am still having problems 3 years after my accident...

Cool

Not making light of it at all but I found it amusing that the rear deck around the third brake light was wildly contorted but the lens is largely untouched...

The same thing happened to me right after I got my Beetle...I had just got it, and about a week and a half later someone rear-ended me...I had to go two-weeks without my bug...but I got through it, and I now enjoy my time with the car even more than before.

You will get through this, and so will your Beetle. Here is to a smooth insurance transaction though!

*HUGS* ... Get better soon! *HUGS*

Nothing worse than a squished bug

I saw that TDI and immediately thought its a TDI, you'll never get that replaced.

But then I noticed the cause of the accident ... They were driving on the wrong side of the road

Please excuse my attempt to humor at your situation. But once everyone is ok, it's only appropriate to laugh about it. Nothing else seems to help, well except really good trial lawyers..

Hope the neck feels better soon.

I secon and third the comments that it could have been worse! At least you are just bruised, and your friend was not near the back of the car when you were hit!

Good luck, and take care of yourself!
