Talking Bugs and Kisses

A Beetle is always a favorite of kids it seems. So it was no surprise that my 2 year old nephew who's first word was "car car" always likes to be in mine. He likes it best when we close the doors so he can more realistically pretend he is driving. Anyways, I was following him and the rest of his family on a roadtrip and when we stopped at the gas station he ran to my car and kissed it, right on the front with all the bug guts. He then proceeded to kiss it a few more times in cleaner areas. It made me quite happy . It also now has the title "cool car" which my brother's Cobalt SS has not yet received.

The man himself:

...Now if only he could get me some friends in this new town , heh heh.

Your nephew is SUCH a cutie! Not to mention smart beyond his years Good to know you've got another NB enthousiast in the family
Thanks, that picture made me smile - and it's been a very stressful day.

That picture is just toooo cute.

I love it when kids tell me how cool my car is. And that happens a lot, since I work at a school

Hope you've soon got too many friends to fit in your bug at once

Did your NB have Cheerios on the bumper? Cute pic.

(Growler, I'm taking the liberty to show your pics. I thought they will work here. )

If you know Growler, you may know about his former, beautiful New Beetle, Eeyore. Eeyore was a favorite NB here, and we all loved him. Me met his end, though, from a stupid taxi driver in 2003, and I, for one, still am sad.

Anyway, here is Eeyore before, and cute son saying goodbye, after the demise. I love this picture.

That is so cute! And so sad! I almost cried! I love the wheels on eyore! I'm so lucky to be getting mine back again! (And always imagined - in my perfect world in my head - that I'd be getting a job in the school I'm in now, excepting that I'd be driving my bug there! 1 week tomorrow and I guess it will all come true!)

My partner the other day suggested I think more of my bug than him - I did deny kissing it goodnight... what he doesn't see won't hurt him Oh dear - does that make me a child or a fruitloop? Or both?!

Oh, I didn't take that picture, that would be Growler/Eeyore/Aaron. I only took the liberty of posting the pics. Yes, sad, but also heartwarming. That pic, despite the demise, is one of my all-time favorites. When you see it, you don't know whether to smile or cry!
