Go there, and seek thee the ways of the Parallels Desktop for Mac.
It will work on your Intel Mac. BUT! It is a new product, and as such, can be odd. Like, I had to upload a (free) program called BONJOUR to get my XP to print to my Apple printer...and you have to 'tell' your XP what USB ports you want to use. You can only use two at a time. Which is not so hard as it sounds...like, you want to access a thumb drive, say; you just tell the XP where it is. Oh, you can figure it out. I did.
One other thing that Parallels does not seem to do, is to read DVD, despite having a DVD player in the iMac. Now, it's not a big deal to me, since I can watch DVD in many other ways. What I use Parallels for is to access some programs that I have, that are only PC based, at least for now. See, the way I figure it, now that Intel is in a Apple, more programs will be soon available for the Mac then before.

Thanks phoenixrising
and
a thank you too for kcfoxie as well(he shot me a PM yesterday and helped me out)
I think my problem last weekend might of been not using xpsp2-xp with the service pack 2.
I thought I could get away with using the XP-Gateway CD that came with my Gateway.
