Cool Could Have Been a "COPS" Episode.....

So, I take the NB to work yesterday. About an hour after I get to work, there is a minor accident on the street and both parties pull into our parking lot to wait for the police to make a report.

The police officer arrives and asks both drivers for their licenses and insurance cards. One of the drivers (who we later find out has a mental history and is on medication) goes nuts and lunges at the police officer, punches him and tries to wrestle him to the ground. The officer pushes the "emergency" button on his radio and continues to struggle with the offender until backup arrives. Another officer arrives and sprays the offender with pepper spray. Finally, the crazy guy is subdued and handcuffed - right on the hood of our NB!!! What the hell!!!

Damage includes a bunch of dents, scratches and a couple of paint chips. I'm thinking the guy may have had the VW logo imprinted on his forehead. Looks like we'll be getting a new hood out of the deal - but the inconvenience is going to be a pain in the butt.

"Bad boys, bad boys. Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?"

I am a big "Cops" fan, and I have always wondered what happens to the innocent cars they throw bad guys on.

Sorry this happened to you. I would think the city, or county, will be responsible for the damage, or even the idiot that caused the cops to throw him on your hood. You have a few options.

If the "bad guy" wasn't a beligerant ass, then this never would have happened, right? It's HIS fault!

"Key Lime" was just a victim of circumstance - in the wrong place at the wrong time. The police didn't aim for our car on purpose - that's just where the scuffle ended up. I'm sure I'll get restitution from either the bad guy or the village. No biggie. I'm just glad that the officers didn't get seriously hurt...it possibly could have been a more serious situation.

Darn... I missed the 8pm episode of COPS. A buddy of mine is a sheriff for the Brevard Co Sheriff's Dept that was featured on COPS tonight and he was on the show as a peripheral officer.
