Every car has a little quirk with it, so what's yours?

This should be fun!

Daisy likes to speed up after I set the cruise control. Sometimes it's 3-5 times a day, other times she won't do it for a week. She's more likely to do this going down a hill, but she'll do it on a flat road too. One time I let her go and she got up to over 25 over the speed limit before I stopped her! I've named this problem "Herbie moments".

Well... this one is my fault but because I have an overly stiff suspension my cruise control will shut off over big bumps on the highway. The wheels momentarly leave the ground and whammo.. no cruise.

If you lean against the passanger door while the car is running the interior lights come on. I have adjusted the door several times but it still does it.

My car does that too, but it only does it on a flat surface, and only gues 5 faster than slows back down. Damn, i thouht my car was Herbie possesed.

Here goes:
- Cruise Control Thing mentioned above
- Starter "The Cheat" (from www.homestarrunner.com ) sound; it's basically a dirty starter linkage, but it's been doin it for 2 years and donest seem ot be hurting anything. I'll get it cleaned up when i do my clutch.
- Frozen Parking Brake Syndrome, when i use my parking brake in the cold weather, when i release the handle, the caliper doesnt let go.
- Constant bottoming out; gotta love the ride of a low ground clearence steel dieselgeek plate - oh what fun!
- Sticky Glovebox latch linkage; i'm just too lazy to take the door apart and see what's wrong
- Insane Grumbleness; completely solid tranny pendulum mount, you migh as well sit right on top of the engine, at least you'll have a heated seat.
- Locks that dont care; the switches in the doors are broken, so if you unlock with the remote and open the door and leave it open, the car doesnt know the door is open and attemps to re-lock the door and sets the alarm on, with the door still open.

Mine likes to take off really fast when the light turns green
And he locks himself too when the passenger door is open.

Charlie's headlights sometimes won't turn on with the first flick of the switch, so I have to do it two times to make him light up, he's so shy.

Marley um doens't crank, that's his quirk. He reached the ripe old age of 8 and said "I quit!"

I had that exact problem. Take that to the dealer if you have warranty. Got mine fixed gratis.

Mine do the same thing too! My left turn signal also does what it wants. If I turn it own while driving it will go fast as if the bulb is blown. But if i stop it will go back to blinking normally. Mind you it only does this when its cold out.

Here ya go. If I can do it anyone can
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes they do. You need to change the bulb that is located behind the fan control. Turn it to the second speed and pull the knob straight out.Cover the knob with a piece of rubber to protect it. (I used a jar opener gripper) You need a piece of plastic tubing to pull the bulb straight out. I got 1/4 inch diameter vinyl tubing from menards($1). Push the tubing over the bulb then pull out. Bring it to the dealer and they'll know exactly which one to give you. They gave me one free The new bulb just gets pushed in with the tubing. Then put the control knob back in and you're good to go Good luck. If I can do it anybody can

Hopkins, you have just jumped right in on the forums! I love it! And people say we're not friendly to newcomers! Doesn't seem to have bothered you! HI!!

Anyway... Bugzzi has got some quirks too. Reading all of these scares me!

Her door locks randomly go down if they forget. Sometimes I'll be on the freway and when I get off and slow down to 10mph (when they're supposed to go down!) they lock. The great part is that it always scares my pasengers, LOL!

Sometimes her gas needle says she has more gas than she does. Once it starts to get less full, it adjusts itself.

She does not like going up a hill. She gets really jerky.

He speedometer needle is kinda broken and once I hit 80, sometimes it just sits there and wiggles around and won't go over 80, even if I am!

Her check engine light likes to come on and say hi for a few days. Then it turns off!

All of these only happen sometimes and I've learned to deal. She's a weird one!

let's see....quirks...

* during the winter, i have to hit the trunk button twice on my key fob for curby's trunk to open.
* i can never full curby up with a tank of gas without it "shutting off" on me every gallon or so. takes forever to fill up.
* curby's ticks (engine noise) in the winter and pings in the summer.

i think that's it!

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

my interior lights would stay on i finally figuered it out to be the microswitch in the passenger door, researched it and found that it is broken so i figured instead of bieng stuck in the open door position it would be better in the closed pos. so now my passenger door does not light up the car... figuerd i could only replace the whole assy not just the switch.

Only one I can think of is the fuel guage never goes all the way to full when I fill her up. It stops about a needle width or two short of the full mark.

Oops! Remembered another one. The radio likes to change the volume when you change stations. Sometimes by quite a bit.
