The odometer of your Beetle hits 450k miles, which
totally changes my mind that Beetles could not run solid.
As we know, if we can put 300k miles on a vehicle, we would
be very happy. I mistakenly thought any beetle could not have a mileage over 200k miles since there are so many commplaints
from owners out there. But your baby proves me wrong.

Can I say, New Beetle can die hard as long as we take great crae of it?

By the way, so far, what major repairs have you ever done on your Beetle? Is transmission the original one? Is it AT or standard?

Congratulations on your puppy Bug.

That's kilometers instead of miles, but that's still 280,000 miles!

Just buy one and maintain it like you should, either doing the work yourself or take it to a reputable VW mechanic. There's no guarantees but hopefully you'll have many miles of fun.

My friend's 99 hit 298K before he put in a rebuilt motor. He is still on his original clutch too! D2Beetle has a 98 that probably hit the 300K mark!

My 06' TDI has 63,000 miles. Wasn't there someone at Roswell in 09' that had over 400,000 miles? I'll research it when I get home tonight.

I've got 305,550 on my '99 Beetle. Transmission exploded and replaced under warranty at 97K miles, and I replaced the clutch then too. Put another 208K miles on that tranny and clutch. Engine still strong with the 305K+ and getting about 27MPG combined city/hwy.

Thank you very much!!!! I have a 2L 5 speed.... original tranny still... as far as motor work, she is original the only major job which I call maintenance more than anything is timing belt, water pump, motor mounts etc..... and I love her more and more everyday!!!! I swear by the 2L motor!!!
