Default Favorite Place You've Taken Your Beetle!

Besides the McDonald's and the gas station (lol), what's your favorite place where you've taken your New Beetle, or will take your NB? Mine will be Walt Disney World. A no brainer!

What's yours?
Tina

So far, and in no particular order...
To the north....Salem, MA
To the south....Silver Spring, MD
To the east......Montauk (Long Island), NY
To the west.....State College, PA

Now, the bottom 3 are listed as favorite Beetle journeys for me. The Salem trip must be redone so i can wash away the stigma attached to that trip. I need to replace the bad memory with a good one. It was good at the time, but not anymore. So....when i get my car tuned up, maybe i'll take a trip with Miss Steph to see Toadman.

There was a no stop light, no stop sign curvy road that was surrounded by trees, a lake ... a few short hill that I used to go on. Just to cruise. However, since then (this last summer) they have added stop lights and suff. It was my fun road. No one on it ... nothing. Just me, Zoomer and the mentioned things. *sigh* ... I gotta find a new road.

The circumference of the United States, along with a couple of jaunts into Canadia.

Layoffs can be fun!

I'll tell you where...
Someplace warm...
A place where the beer flows like wine...
Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano.

I'm talking about a little place called... Berea. And the OC. And my driveway.

Default Camping along the Calif coast ....

We usually take the big SUV, but this time we needed a top-down, so NBC it is. And while the trunck is indeed small we fit:

* small 3 persons tent
* materass
* 3 sleeping bags
* 2 backpacks
* food for 3 days
* small propane table cooking top
* pans / plates / plasticware
* extra clothing items
* lamps
.... tired to type
needless to say the sweet half was quite impressed. I plan to go to beetle - camp again in the south cascades next summer

Has anyone tried Deals Gap in NC? Tail of the Dragon? I am planning on going down in the spring...have done it many times in a Miata but interested to see how the Turbo S will run through the 318 curves in 11 miles!

I've been there! It was awesome, except I got stuck behind some slowpokes on motorcycles. The whole point is for them to go as fast as they can! I really enjoyed it, but I think California's US-1 was more enjoyable.

As long as you're doing the Dragon's Tail, try Florida, too! It's got 11 turns in 318 miles!

I had fun driving to Texas with Nick(vdubbugman53)and Ashley. Daisy got valet parked for the second time in OKC! When the 3 of us were rolling into Wichita, Marcus and Mary come flying off the ramp in yelojkt!! That was cool! Driving home was a pain since it was just Daisy, no carabugging. I also like to take her out to a paved road, out of town, with no one behind me or in front.

Bretton Woods Resort in NH. The free ski passes from VW made all the difference.

http://www.brettonwoods.com/

It's a 1.5 hour drive from where I live, but thru some of the most scenic highway in the country. Right past where the old man fell off of the mountain. (insider joke)
