Talking Ringo Forever!

I came to a decision today that no matter what I am going to keep Ringo forever, he already has 103k on him and I just got him in december so the trade in won't be much so why not keep good ol' Ringo? I mean even if I get another beetle or some other car, Ringo's worth more then the trade in to me. Isn't that great? Anybody else with an older beetle thought of this?

Well sure! I've had my Beetle since it's been new. It's paid for. I know everywhere it's been. It's paid for. It's a blast to drive. It's paid for. It has treated me well and never left me stranded. It's paid for and it'll never go out of style. By the way, did I mention that it's paid for?...

My Beetle will be only 3 years old on July 1 with 31,000 miles and $9990 left to pay off on the loan. That being said, I plan to keep her until the tires fall off!! Since she's a TDI, I hope that moment doesn't arrive until 500,000 miles or later. I wouldn't want to drive anything else! I'm glad you're keeping Ringo for a very long time too.

Heck yeah...I agree.

Casper will meet the same "fate" once we pay it off...ours forever.

If my van doesn't have cracked heads (the van that hubby got in a wreck in 10 minutes after we bought Casper), then I will begin driving it again now that we have the kids, and Casper goes into "garage lock down", only to be driven for fun and be restored...I mean, it's NOT a mess of a car...but we want to "preserve" it...haha

I've had my 98 for nearly 2 years now.

I've put almost 18, 000 miles on her which puts me between 35 and 36,000 now.

And yes, I too plan on keeping my bubble of happiness forever.

Angelworks I am so jealous that your 98 only has 36k! I was at the mall yesterday when I came to this decision and shortly before that my boyfriend wanted to go put his coat in Ringo while we shopped. I told him he couldn't go out there and tease ringo like that. Ringo would be excited, "Oh we're going out again so soon? Yeah lets go for a drive, alright going crusing, vroom vroom," and other such car talk and my boyfriend goes "He's got a 103k on him, he doesn't want to go anywhere he wants to take a nap," lol, and it occurs to me well who else would want a beetle with even more miles on it when i'm done? So I'll keep ringo forever and eventually get him a lady friend beetle.

Lol!
I've had Chip since he was new, and I will keep him forever too. He only has 157k so I think he's broken in now and I can start driving him like I stole him Actually, that's the only way he rolls I had to use the Hubby's Mitsubichi yesterday(Chip was clean and it had snowed) and all I can say is, what a pig. That thing won't let you take off faster than a 93 year old man unless you floor it I Chip!

How much is someone really going to give me for 98 w. probably 170k when I trade him in? I got a two year, 24k warranty nd i'm not getting rid of him before then. Might as well keep my ringo forever, my boyfriend has enough earning potential to be able to give ringo a nice garage to stay in. lol

Ringo, you're so funny!!!! I love that you make car noises!! I do that too when I go around corners really fast- like I'm a race car driver!

I could never get rid of Bugzzi. She's pushin 130K right now... like you said, no one else would want her and if they did, it'd be for only a few bucks. I've put too much of myself into that little pod... Oh, I think I shed a tear....

there's been many times i've found myself thinking i'll have curby forever. but, i don't have room for two cars and someday, some new beetle is going to tempt me and i'll need curby for a few thousand down payment.

that being said, i'll probably drive beetles for quite awhile.

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

Emmy, my Paulie is the same way. With 187,000 miles I can't see getting enough money to make a difference later on, and like Niki said I've put alot into him. In fact, I still have more mods I want to do, on top of what I'm perfecting right now. I've had my car for all but the first 43 miles and we've had some really great times. Cori's shooting for 500k, but I was thinking just 300,000 miles would be a good point to get something else. You know, just so I could ease up on the Bug. But I can't see ever getting rid of it. That just wouldn't make any sense.
