Default Beetle in bad weather???

Hi all I am new. I will post in the new comers area too but thought I would ask this ...
How does the new bug run in bad weather? I am thinking of the icy cold winters here when it snows. That is a big deal to me.
What are some of things you love and are not so crazy about with the new beetle?
I am in the process of 'probably' buying one. They are offering incentives on the 07's.
The problem is, I don't know if I want a convertible! They run about 5g's more. Does anyone own a vert? Gosh I am so up in the air!
Thanks!

Oh buy the way - I also own a 69 classic bug - red.

Thumbs up great with snow and ice

I had a NB hard top for four years and I never had problems getting around in the snow and ice. I just bought the triple white convertable a few months ago so don't know what it will be like this winter but it should be the same. I have always wanted the vert so I would say if you can swing it get it. I love mine and it is starting to chill down here but I have still been going topless. Just turn on the heat in the seat!

My Terbie gets along good in the snow unless we have the 3 feet of snow! lol The things I hate are the small cup holders but I think the new ones fixed that problem, the small trunks and back seats. The things I love, Heated seats which are very comfy (my fav), alot of head room, huge dashboards(you can fit a pizza box up there, the blue glo from the dash, pretty much the whole car I love lol

After 2 Toronto winters, Ladybug is a certified snow beast!
I run snow tires on her, and she's just fine in many inches of snow.
And this is WITHOUT ABS or any other bells and whistles that come standard on post-98' bugs.
What I especially like during snow and rain is that the very shape of the windshield helps keep it clear - I find I use/need the wipers less than in any other car. The visiblility is really good all around too, and the heater's powerful.
