Default I crashed :(

Not totaled, thankfully.

So basically, I'm awake at 2 after playing some IIDX all night, and I get really hungry.

Nothing in the house so hey, why not go to Taco Bell for some delicious win.

So I jump in my Beetle, and it starts to PISS rain, really, really hard.

So as I am turning, driving on the highway, I start to hydoplane. "Oh crap." I say and attempt to steer out of the swerve, but of course that only made it worse, so I crash into the curb, REALLY FRICKIN' HARD and I hear my front right tire pop, damn, I think, so I do 4 spins, and the back right wheel gets scraped and busted up (not popped) on the curb, then a couple more rotations, and I come to a dead stop facing incoming traffic.

Granted it was 2 am so luckily there was no one on the road at the time.

So I quickly jam it in to Drive and get on the shoulder, scraping the hell out of my tire at the same time.

So I'm freaking crazy right about then, and I freak out and am shaking like crazy.

So I try to call my house to try and get ahold of my dad, but he's a damn sound sleeper (didn't wake up once during my IIDX run)

So I'm like, crap, and the rain actually dies down a bit, so I'm like goddamn, I gotta walk.

Of course it was pretty warm at the time so I only had a t-shirt and shorts on, no jacket.

And of course a massive cold front moves in, so I'm freezing my ass off for 4 miles on the highway. That took SO long, it wasn't funny.

So I wake up my dad, we go change the tire, but of course the spare is flat, so I wait for him to bring a pump. While that happens a friendly NJDOT guy pulls over and gives me a tank of gas and fills my air in all the tires for free, which is sweet, and I'm really glad he came.

BUT OF COURSE, As soon as we start to move the car, it goes crazy, like imagine an oval-shaped wheel. That's how bad it was.

So we wait a bit, and call for a tow truck, who comes pretty fast, and we tow it back to the house.

Damages:

-Not me, surprisingly.
-Front right tire is garbage, rim is cucumbered up horribly.
-Front fender has enormous scrapes all over, grille was smashed, fog lights fell out.
-Rear reverse light busted, also the rear turn signal fell off somewher eon the road.
-Rear tire chipped kinda bad.

tl;dr

Damn it.

PS: Hillarious irony is that I was listening to this song at the time, and crashed at 1:07.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVp6Xj5M7Bo

I swear I was laughing so much but I was like "Aww hell no" hahaha.

Don't beat me for sayin, but what is IIDX? Like guitar hero for wannabe DJs? It looked like a turntable to your right. If so, cool concept!
Sorry to hear about the bug. At least you are fine and all your fingers can still play IIDX, whatever that is

Fixed your post; removed the cuss'n and what not.

Sorry to hear about the wreck man. I can't imagine how tires work up there in the North. Must be rough. Glad you didn't get hurt and glad to hear the damage was mostly cosmetic.

Good thing there was no one else out at the time.

With all those vegetables you had in your mouth already I'm surprised you were so hungry you needed to go to Taco Bell.

Glad you weren't hurt.

Fantastic editing-- didn't lose the feeling of the post at all!

Sorry about the car, but it took care of you! That's what's really important, right?

Came out ten years before GH, along with it's sister game, Guitar Freaks.

And now they want to capitalize on it by making "DJ Hero." Ugh...

Here's a good example:

Also the Tower said my CV Joint may have problems, do you guys think that's what it is?

Also, what was the point of editing when it was alreadyed censored out? Haha.

Can you change "potato" to "I?"

poor potato I feel bad for him? or her? anyways. I know how that feels... the whole shaking thing. I went into a ditch with buggaboo and you know its coming because you swerve and you try to control it but you just cant and then the ditch... (or the curb in your instance) It sucks. Luckily i had no damage to my beetle.... she just slid into the ditch but yeah, its scary!

Ughh! And you never made it to Taco Bell! What a horrible experience. You are very fortunate, it could have turned out much worse.

If anything the damage, at least the bumper, finally gives me an excuse to replace it.

I just hope the axle problem is easily fixed...

like everyone else said, the most important thing is that you're okay. and he/she deffinately has some bumps and bruises but at least he/she's not totalled! and this is a perfect story for all those people out there that call us stupid for driving little cars like the NB and the mini cooper, people always call them 'death traps' but you are very much alive! good luck with your repairs, hope they're not too costly

Wheel liner: $81

New tire: $149
New wheel: $269

Alignment: $80
Balance: $50

Total: $2,525.50

Honestly I think you're retarded for taking a 9 year old car to the dealer. Find a reputable independent VW shop in your area to repair the real mechanical damage, they're always cheaper and have access to used parts which cuts down on the cost A LOT. I find on average the quotes from my local VW shop are 35-45% cheaper than at the dealer.

You should be able to find a replacement wheel at a junkyard since they came stock on hundreds of thousands of NB's, and they're way overcharging you for alignment and balance. You should also be able to find a replacement wheel liner at a junkyard, and don't even bother with the splash shield.

Morale of the story: The dealer is only useful for warranty work, and after that you deserve to be ripped off if you take your car there.
