Ok so i went to the dealership today to get my switches replaced because poor Fiona took a beating with those window switches so anyway i was walkin around the lot and a sales guy comes up to me and we started talkin and he was like "wow, u really are enthusiastic about ur car huh??" i said "omg u dont even know i absolutly love my car" so he asked what color it was and i told him Cyber Green and he told me that Cyber Green is rare...i dunno if he was just sayin that but apparently noone wants to get rid of 'em so hes sayin they r rare i dunno but he also said the Gecko Green doesnt sell half as well as Cyber did and there was ONE pre-owned beetle it was a 2000 Reflex Silver 5spd manual and he said they cant get rid of it... poor lil buggy...anyway just thought id share that cuzz i didnt think Cyber Green was that rare

i think i know what he meant... They arent rare on the road, but they are rare when looking for a used beetle. I had a VERY hard time trying to find a used one in good condition. Thats probably what he meant. When they get one on the lot thats cyber green and its used and in good condition they go quickly...

I looked for months and months and months for a cyber green beetle that hadnt been in a wreck and was in good condition.

Oh how i love my cyber green. I have wanted one since i was in 4th grade! everytime i look at her i smile

I'm with KatieBug -- it seems to be a regional thing with the Cyber Green Beetles and their availability on the pre-owned market. I was determined to have a Cyber Green New Beetle convertible with tan interior and the 2.0 liter motor. My search was targeted on the central midwest; and after looking for two years, I stumbled upon an excellent deal on a left-over 2007 New Beetle convertible in the Gecko Green with tan interior. The Gecko Green is, indeed, a softer version of the Cyber Green, but I am quite pleased with it and the deal that my dealer offered.

I just returned from Suntrup VW where I purchased my New Beetle. The only accessory that it didn't have that I wanted was the CD changer -- I had one installed today -- and it was money well spent! The gasoline to make the trip cost 1/2 as much as the labor for the installation -- I purchased the changer shortly after I bought the car, but waited for a convenient time to make the trip to St. Louis.

Cyber Green is hard to find in good shape, as the paint fades horribly.

Thumbs up

Rare is a Cyber Green with a gray interior - since VW only officially offered them with black or tan.

i looked at one on a lot and test drove it a few days ago, i wanted it bad as i miss my ringo! but it was for sale and dealer acted like no one else ever looked at it. i couldn't get used to the green on the sides and the mirrors! it felt like sitting on shreks head with those horn ears! I would have gotten the car but alas i was not approved for the loan

I don't remember noticing that many beetles on the road around there.. maybe that's changed since i moved, but it's possible that not many people have looked at it.
