Thumbs up Driving with other New Beetles

I live in Phoenix. I commute on the 101 Hwy every day, and last Wednesday I'm driving south in Scottsdale when all of a sudden two New Beetles get right behind me in my lane. We had a mini-convoy of New Beetles on the morning commute! Pretty Cool!!!!

Anybody else have a similar experience?

thats funny u should post somethin about that cuzz i had a similar situation happen the other day

first i was on the 110 goin to the 405 and all of a sudden i pass a blue 04-05 NB and wave but no wave in return well sure enuff she pulls right behind me and im thinkin "omg this is cool" and giggling to myself...well she then turns onto the 405 right behind me!!! so im totally stoked at this point...then i kinda manuver thru lanes cuzz ppl r too slow and she follows me lol...then i get to my turn off and shes still right behind me!!! we get to the street to turn left and she pulls ahead in the lane next to me...man it was like 20 min of her following me it was GREAT!!!

after that i had to pick up my brother by the beach and i was lookin to turn right onto a street and a black NB drives by so i pull next to her and she ignores me...well i pulled in front of her cuzz i had to turn left and she also turns left then we drive one block and a silver NB pulls behind the black one...im sittin there laughing and my brother says im stupid but whatever so they followed me for another block and both turned off to a side street...man that day was great

caught a pic of the blue one i dove with for 15 minutes

Haha!

I always try to maneuver to carabug if I see a New Beetle on the road.

Last week I had the vert, and on the way, I sped up to get next to a red hardtop. She totally ignored me, as we drove right next to each other for a few seconds, but then she glanced over, first at the fender, the up at me waving, and started freaking out, waving, laughing, bouncing!

I made her day. Made MANY peoples day.

Yeah i'm one of those dorks like you guys.

I tend to caravan with vehicles similar to the one I'm driving at the time. I love driving in big convoys on the way to shows and events.

I've not managed to do much driving with New Beetles, but I did have this rare moment happen in a parking lot once.

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

That really was cool. We aren't the only ones into our cars. Some just show it differently.

count me in with the nerds if that's the case - i've turned off my route in pursuit of other NBs (i know all the back roads and get back on track), and will go out of my way in the parking lot to park with them... one rainy night there were 6 of us all grouped together. when i parked it was in the middle of the open lot (to avoid door dings) - it was the coolest thing!

Great pic!
Isn't it odd how the two in the middle appear a bit smaller than the two on the ends...

I was going to park next to a very pretty yellow vert yesterday at Wal Mart but she was all beat up and the parking job was horrendous! She was crooked and overlapped into the space next to her. Beetle abuse! Is there a Beetle Protective Services department I could have called?

I wish - sadly I see it all the time near me - and those are precisely the types of driver's who don't enjoy their ride and think I'm stalking them or something when I wave... oh well - I still love my Lady!

a couple of weeks ago when i went on a drive to central nc, i got to cruise with 2 different orange 'verts on I-85... ~10 miles the first one and ~30 for the second... that was pretty cool.

Yeah it's pretty cool to dirve with other beetles. I believe the term used is Carabug, HOWEVER, I prefer Bugavan- it's just sounds better to me. So i'm a non-conformist....sue me

Anyhoo, here lately i've on my morning commute, i've been involved in quite a few bugavans. I need to take a pic when I can. I've been meaning to make a bugvase tripod, so I can safely take a pic. I'll get a shot soon enough

I drove with two new Beetles yesterday coming home from the movies. I'm seeing more and more Beetles on the road nowadays.
