Smile Roswell 2009...what a trip!!!

Okay first off let me say that this was one of the best weekends I have had in a LONG time!!!! Everyone was so nice and welcoming

BUT.........

Fiona didn't want to cooperate at all, she started acting up Tuesday afternoon (the first day of the trip), she stalled out twice, Wednesday she just kept loosing power , Thursday she did it AGAIN!!!!! and stalled out twice on Main St., Roswell, by this point I was so frustrated I started crying

On Friday I wanted to go to Carlsbad Caverns but as too afraid to drive my car because of how she had been acting, so I stayed with Danny, Tabitha, Shonnel and Al all day trying to figure out what was going on and we strolled around downtown...Let me tell you IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!!!...on the down side we did not find the fuel filter to go on Fiona

Saturday was show day and I was STILL worried about my car and Danny gave me some bad news, the parts place he had talked to the day before could not get the part I needed, so we "mickey moused" it by wrapping a rag around the filter and using zip-ties to hold it in place, it worked on Sunday

Monday we headed home from Globe and Fiona decided to start acting up again (she seemed to only do this when it got to be over 100 degrees outside ) so I had to take her to the dealer in Phoenix and stayed with my parent's friends I really wanted to go home to the beach, I missed the wind and being cold

I had to stay there until this morning but guess what I AM HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you EVERYONE who helped me out all weekend and I had such a great time hanging out with you guys I miss you already

So, other than my car being a brat I had fun, which is what counts right?? Oh and I got an award for her acting up Thanks guys

Anyone else wanna share their Roswell experience??

All that I can say in response to that is....
This org. has the VERY BEST people. I feel like I have known some of you for my entire life. It has been awesome to make such GREAT friends and I hope to continue making more.
My car and this org make me smile. Thank you everyone. I really mean it, with ALL my heart.

WE should be very proud to be a part of this board.

Our long weekend was amazing and I met so many new friends but.... one sad thing that happened was that somehow, in the framble, I never got to actually meet you. I even dropped by on Friday to check out the shade tree mechanic operation but only Fiona was there. I did manage to get this picture. I hope it doesn't bring back bad memories. Good to hear you got homme. Did the dealer in Phoenix get everything back in good order?

Casey hold that trophy of yours with pride. It emboddies the spirt of a beetle owner. Semper Fi no matter what, we'll be there.

Well, as you know Casey, Cup was being a brat too. I left for Roswell, Wednesday morning. I made a stop for gas about 2 hours shy of Dallas. Gassed up, and as I left the station lot, and flicked the turn signal...nothing. Tunrned on the lights....nothing. I knew immediately that it was the ignition switch. I had brights, but i didn't want to chance getting a ticket. So fortunately there was a hotel next to the station, so I crashed for the night. Needless to say that Cup was litteraly a Daily Driver.

The retunrn trip home of course was a day trip. I stopped in Dallas at TJ's (PhoenixRising) for dinner and stayed overnight at Hampton Inn. I fininshed the trek home at first light, Monday. Oh yeah, and Cup decide to start misfiring. Still, i'd do it all again. Fun times indeed.

Casey, it was a blast downtown too! We all got t-shirts, took some great pics and some even got treated to a song in the music store.

Sounds like some of the bugs didn't care for the heat! I know how that is. I'm sure most of you who went to the ToD know that I was having my set of issues as well prior to our weekend get away.

So, it must have been Fiona you were calling me about huh Al? That's ok, I'd be more than willing to help if I could have. What turned out to be the issue?

Isn't it amazing how our little cars have a mind of their own? This place really is the place to be. Everyone is so willing to offer advice or even help if they can. Can't wait to meet up with everyone again. It's always so much fun. It's almost like meeting up with family that you really like that you haven't seen in ages. Or maybe meeting up with an old high school buddy. Yeah...that's what it's like. This place is the best!

Glad everyone had fun at Roswell, even if there were some hiccups in the adventure. It wouldn't be an adventure without it ... would it?

I wanted them to sing, but no. It was me Antione. If there was a piano at the hotel, I would've scratched out some quick lyrics and done the deed. As Tabitha said, one song was "check engine light blues" and the other was "Beetle Woman", sung to ELO's Evil Woman. It was fun.

Yep Michelle, it was Casey I texted you about. I was hoping you could assist, but she's a gas burner- thanks anyway. And it's funny.... I did think of you and Probie, and how He was acting up before the TOD.

You're so right- this place is like family indeed. No disrespect to the Vortex, but the one thing that sets us apart form them is, the family/community element of the org. It's amazed that we spent a good amount of Friday afternoon, under a shade tree, tinkering with our nB's, and enjoying each other's company. We even had a lady and her daughter stop by, who by the way, just bought their nB. I have a pic somewhere. I'll post it.

That just shows how wound up I was. We do definitely need to plan on spending a bit more time to visit next time. I'm marking off my calendar daily. Just slightly over 23 months to go.

EGAD!! You took a picture.... who knew. It was fun indeed. And the lyrics to Beetle Woman are pretty much complete now. Along with a new, new beetle song. Maybe if Cup's a trailer queen next year, I'll bring some of my gear. Better yet, it would be cool if that music store would rent a keyboard and an amp for us; it would be a cool promo for their store as well.

Hey, it could happen

I knew there was something about you i liked.... well one of many things Fellow drummer here

You know the band could happen. If we exchange tracks and such we could kinda have long-distance practice sessions and glue it all together in Roswell. That would be too awesome for words mang
