My first Slug Bug - My first honk; all in the same day!

I have heard of New Beetle drivers seeing people "slug" or "punch" each other when they see a Bug, but it never happened to me, until today!

I was at a light. First in line. A couple was walking across the street and the woman punched the guy she was with in the arm and then pointed at my car. Just as she did, he punched her in the arm as another New Beetle zipped by in the other direction and he pointed to that one. I started laughing, and they started laughing, and the people in the Jetta next to me started laughing. It made my day.

Then this evening I decided to go for a ride as the temp. was in the 70's and sunny today, so top down, and a quick spin to Alki Beach here in Seattle. On the way there, another NBC exactly like mine was coming in the other direction. She honked and smiled and I waved back as it caught me off guard!

Great day to be out in my beetle!!!

Great story! Neither has happened to me yet, but it will be cool when it does.

I have a black vert too, so if I ever see you driving in the other direction I will honk and wave!

That's great!!! I remember my first actual siting of Slug Bug, it was frickin awesome!!!! I don't see it much because my vision sucks but I have been told people do it when they see my car

One of my most memorable "slug bug" events was when a mini-van passed us with three kids in the back seat. The kid on the right side saw us, slugged his brother (middle seat), who just got mad and slugged him back, then his brother on his left saw us, slugged the middle brother again, then the middle brother saw us and he got smacked by his mother for starting the slug fest.

All of this occurred in a matter of seconds.

i had Laycee about two day and i had the windows down driving home from school and drove pass a group of kid. i heared one girl say slug bug and hit her friend
