Today marks 5 wonderful years I have spent with my Darla! I got her when I was just 17, and not expecting to have a car to go to college with. With my scholarships that I recieved, my parents decided that they would spring for a car for me and surprise me with my dream. We went by the dealership to pick up some paint for my boyfriend's Passat (he did need it, and there was some there for him) and while we were there, I oogled all the NBs, as I loved to do. A salesman pulled a pretty blue one to the front of the dealership and it was revealed to me that she was mine!! I didn't take her home until the next day, as the dealer still had a few things to take care of on the car, and she was a stick so my boyfriend had to drive her home for me. I can't believe its been 5 years! We've shared a lot together. She took us to prom, I learned to drive stick, was my faithful college car (taking me 240 miles to and from Raleigh to visit my boyfriend once a month for 3 1/2 years), taken us to the beach, and seen a number of VW shows. She is currently collecting pollen in front of my house with a dead catalytic converter

but at 11 years old and with 92k on her, she has been a wonderful car. She'll be getting the cat taken care of hopefully next week once my fiance gets back into town and then she'll be super happy!
Oh, and also, its my fiance's birthday today! So happy anniversary to my Darla and me, and happy 23rd birthday to my hubby-to-be!
Some photos from our journey together: when I first got her, up in the mountains, some new wheels, and her first big snow here in NC!
