It should be a very interesting day today.........
Well, my wife and I are taking our '06 NBC today to my inlaws for the first time. Her brothers are supposed to be there, too. It's amazing, but everytime my wife and I have bought a car over the years, they never say one good thing about it. So today will be interesting. Her one brother, who is 47, hates convertables!! He always says someone is gonna tear it apart. So I can't wait to hear what he has to say. I think he's just jealous. There's nothing else I can think of. He either mocks everything we buy or he won't say one word about it!! It drives me crazy!! Yet, of course, whenever he buys something he has to show us immediately and won't stop talking about it!! I'll report back to the forum when I get home tonight. Don't you just love how people are so jealous of our NB's??? Thanks for reading....

i have cousins who are like that. they drive american junk and constantly say bad things about my VWs. i think they're just jealous. just give them a smart remark back and never let them see it if you get annoyed, because then they will!

that sucks about the bro-in-law...its funny how people can't just be happy for one another and put down all this jealousy crap amongst family. wifey and i are in the process of purchasing a new smart car convertible and it seems there's a very small niche of people who are accepting of those little cars.....so we know whatcha mean when it comes to negative criticisms....
good luck. i vote you arrive and depart with the top down just for your bro!!!

Ugh. People. My dad loves to bash my Zoomer. He thinks that since my sisters 2002 New Beetle has issues that they are all junk.
Hope things went well today! yoyorob- I LOVE the Smarts! <3 I hear people bashing them all the time too. Usually those who drive SUV's and larger vehicles.
