Dont Slam My Door!!

Ever since I purchased my '99 early last year,it seems as though I'm too gentle with my doors ,

I'm absolutely petrified having a passenger in my car,not for safety,rather damage to my door internals & door panel (foot rubbing,grrrr).

Everytime someone gets in,they treat it like a...toyota 'er something,I keep telling them to,
I
1)Knock their feet off,NOT ON MY RUNNING BOARD THOUGH!

2)Easy on the cow hide aka leather,

3)Gently close the door,it doesn't take much effort,

4)Last but not least,when ya' get out,don't use your foot to push the door open! It'll scratch my "soft touch" coated door panel..

Do you guys think slamming the door will cause damage,its not that hard,just hard enough to make my ears bleed.,not really.

You guys got rules or just don't worry about the scratches,additional wear,tear & costly repair?

I'm always Yelling at people for slamming my doors, I tell em "this isn't some big three POS, you don't have to slam it"

the doors on a beetle are very heavy thoug. Compared with most other cars iver been in they have got to be the heaviest.

Yeah. I tell people all the time. Usually it is men that slam them though. My dad purposely slams the passenger door. Irritating.

The leather on the passenger side seat bolster is warn a ton. People get in and let their butt hit the bolster. Ugh. My side is almost new looking. :P

Another thing that gets me cranky is when my mom is in my car and holds on to the door pull thing (black matte finish) while I am driving. Use it to close the door, then please, stop touching it. The plastic finish is coming off and holding it makes it worse. Yeah. ARGH!

I need to have a special 'rule book' printed up that I give to everyone that gets in Zoomer. Then, have them sign an agreement form. LOL

Oh man...

The door slamming thing is my biggest pet peeve with my car! That and people just yank the door open, so then the window hits the top on my 03 vert...

But the slamming... geesh... everyone who gets in my car does it... I'm like gentle, please, gentle...

My pet peeve is when some uneducated person doesn't wait for the window drop before opening the door on my NBC, either getting in or out.

it annoys me when ppl yell at me for slaming the door when i don't cuz id rather they slam the door than it not be closed all the way

This thread is for me! Every morning when I drop my daughter off for school I have to yell at her for slamming the door.
And, she also always opens the door with her feet...grrrr.

Thanks guys for returning my sense of normalcy,I was beginning to believe I was going insane .

I guess I'm not the only one having to raise my 'monotone' voice at my buddies .

My girlfriend slams it as hard as she is mad,she once knock the door catch loose ,that one I may have to live with (I fixed it )

I HATE it when people slam my door, my friends have all gotten used to it I think by now because they almost ALWAYS close it gently (Thank goodness), although when you are in the car it sounds like it is being slammed

My mom and brother are the WORST about slamming the doors of my car, I get SOOOO mad but I gave up trying to tell them not to do it because it's no use

Here's what I did~

Went to Wal-mart, go over in the crafts section~ get some cool stick on lettering~
and on the INSIDE of my passenger door, I spelled out

Don't SLAM it ~

at first I had ~ Don't slam it~ damn it !

NOBODY gets in that car and slams the door anymore!! I LOVE IT!

I hate it too but my girlfriend gets mad at me for slammin the doors on her car because her doors are like 2 lbs and my NBs are like 100 lbs. She doesnt get that mad since we took my NB out for the day running around and when she got in to her car she slammed it worse than i ever did

My mom is the only real Curtice one when it comes to shutting my door. I can't tell you had many times i've cussed my brother out for slamming the door... Usually followed by, if that window shatters when it falls into the door i'm going to kill you...

But yes i'd agree people need to be more gentle when they shut our doors

They really are!! It was extremely windy the other day after school, and as I was getting out of my car, the wind blew my door open farther. It blew the door open so hard it shook the whole car! I think that's saying something about how heavy they are!! haha
