Talking Just Bought: 06 Silver NB Deluxe Pkg 2 :)

I am in Heaven, Nirvana, absolute BLISS.
I'm 40, and my ONLY other cars were 2 98 Jetta GLS that were BOTH completely SHOT when I GOT them. And both of those were driven over the past 1-1/2 yrs, as I only just started driving!!
I have had a lifelong fascination with VW, and get teased on a daily basis on my obsessiveness Having 2 very young babies over that 2 yr timespan, we finally settled on a Routan. While not GENUINE VW, we love it. My BURNING QUEST though, was for a Golf/Rabbit, or ultimately...a GTI, my Holy Grail.
Long story short, our credit wasn't great. After trying every VW dealer, I finally found one willing to work with me. The salesman suggested Pre-Loved to keep the payments low. There I saw her, a 2006 Deluxe Pkg 2 Silver NB, with the Leather/Sunroof/Heated Seats ANDS 17 inch wheels. It's 3 days later, and the experience of owning and driving this beautiful machine is OTHERWORLDLY. I feel so fortunate and privileged to have this car and experience.
Of course I have questions:
1. Best choice of Sun "deflector" for the sunroof? Or should I just wear shades ;-)
2. Is there a swappable BULB that will even APPROXIMATE the look of GTI Headlights?
3. I THINK I want a spoiler, but I'd prefer one that does not involve drilling OR electrical modding.

Thanks so much in advance. ~Michael

The GTI has HID headlights in 4300k (k= Kelvin, not thousand). Pretty easy to do. Just find your favorite HID retailer and have have at it. I'm not sure about the 2006 and newer's bulb size unfortunately. The older bugs were H1.

Btw, PICS PICS PICS PICS PICS PICS PICS PICS PICS PICS PICS!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the family!

Aren't Beetles *amazing* ? You are going to go mad-crazy in it

And as others have said, pictures ARE a must, we love them!

As for a SPOILER.. they make some very nice no-drill spoilers that replace your 3rd brake light. You take the brake light out, and the spoiler goes in and bolts in place of it, AND has a brake light built into it.

There is this kind...
Painted VW Beetle New ABS Rear Spoiler 1998 - 2009 Led : eBay Motors (item 270565493389 end time May-18-10 06:25:21 PDT)

And...
I *think* this one would work too... but someone else would have to verify if the trunk has changed *at all*. I don't think it has.
VW Beetle 1998-2005 Spoiler, Hard Top (exc 1.8T): eBay Motors (item 180488878649 end time May-31-10 12:21:32 PDT)

But those would work. There ARE others, I just can't think of them off the top of my head right now

Congrats and welcome to the Org!!! Best of luck on your new Beetle. Sounds really nice. You will find that this is a great place for any questions you might have and for finding out anything pertaining to New Beetles. I've only been a member since March and I love this site.
