Cool The bud vase thread

OK, so the bud vase was not a selling point. I had pretty much decided on a New Beetle before I knew there was one. But after a few months of keeping it in the glove compartment, I decided "why not?"

One single long stem red rose. Artificial but good quality, not plastic.

What do you have?

Anything pink. Right now I'm sporting the pink VW plush daisy.

I have a 1965 VW squareback with a bud vase. I don't use artificial flowers only a real rose or carnation in it. Don't like fake flowers. When I bought my 1999 NB the bud vase was gone. Guess I'd better get a new one!

I still have my plastic spoon flower that smurfysouperbug (i think that's her name) made for me! After the guys at Meinke decapitated the first one...I always take the bug vase out when dropping off the car...just in case. And there are 3 butterflies around it too. I always get compliments.

How in the world can you drive with all of that right in front of you. Pretty cool themes you got going on but my word, I'm afraid I'd run over something from lack of visibility.

I have been pondering what to put in mine since I got the car a year ago. Right now, though, I do have some half dead buttercup "flowers" in mine that my 4 year old niece picked for me. I mean how can you NOT show them off when a curly-q blondie comes running up to you screaming in excitement "look what I picked for you Auntie Tammy!!!!"

Talking This is in my Bud Vase

I just made these and thought there were different from the ordinary flowers or pens that you all put in them. I made a whole bunch so I can interchange them. They look pretty sweet in the sunlight.

^Those are so cool!!

Sorry this picture didn't come out very well...the humidity was fogging up my camera lens!!

Anyways, I just got back from Japan a few days ago, and this is my new Shinto amulet hanging from my bud vase. I got it at the Ise Shrine, which is the most sacred shrine in Japan. It's for 'safe driving.' lol

it's been a while, lots of updating to do. so we last left off with the memorial day stars, lol. in june my boyfriend and i went to disney for his birthday, i got my mom a minnie mouse antenna ball for her jetta but was bummed i don't have an antenna. then my smartypants matt says, "put it on a stick for your budvase." i love him. so here's my cupcake! i ended up using part of a long kitchen match, decapitated of course.

also picked up a minnie mouse pen...

however they do not survive in heat

also picked this up at disney, i found it appropriate

found these tomatoes at michael's and thought they were funny.

this went in for the fourth of july.

then some cute summer strawberries.

and finally now, something more simple. while they appear yellow, they are in fact radioactive green.

trying to decide what i'll do for H2O!

We used silk flowers for our centerpieces at our wedding so we still have tons of them. We have a mix of wildflowers and blue hydrangeas. They're at my parents house at the moment, but I plan to get some of them for my bud vase. I figure I'll smile even more when I drive my car with them there

I either have one artificial black rose, or a fat "Sharpie" brand permanent marker in my bud vase.
