All right, having friends that have Corvettes and being a Fiero guy myself from the past, we ALWAYS way to each other.

If you see a silver Turbo S driving toward you, wave to me, damn it!!!!!

If it's a different Beetle, you never know, it might be me so wave to me Damn it!!!!!

The other day I pulled up to another owner with the same car as me. It was two guys in the car and the car had rims and tint on it. I waved and they just gave me a funny look ...

Yesterday I pulled up next to a lady in a cyber green NB with bright purple fenders. I smiled and waved to her she got this look on her face like she was disgusted, like I had offended her somehow. People are so weird sometimes.

Unfortunately, a lot of people own NBs just because they're cute cars and have no enthusiasm for them otherwise. Its also hard to get nice old aircooled drivers to acknowledge you when you're in a NB Thats why we love driving my father-in-law's Vanagon...its weird, its a different VW and you get acknowledged by other VW enthusiasts. Its a shame the NB community isn't more like that. But thats just the way it is I suppose.

yup. I wave at every VW I see. Beetle or otherwise! Then again, you might catch me while I"m shifting gears and I don't wave, it's not cause I don't care...it's cause I'm busy! haha

I've waved for 25K miles now and have only gotten 2 waves. Lately I've been flashing my lights prior to the wave, and still nothing. I'll keep at it!

It does get frustrating at time!! I wave EVERYTIME I see a beetle, old or new.. about 1/10 times I get a wave back, sucks but when I do get a wave it just makes my whole day!

Yeah, so far I've only gotten wierd looks when I wave. 90% of the time though people probably look at my car because of the super dark tint on the windows.

I just bought my new beetle, and while driving I noticed that others in NB are waving at me! I did not know these people yet they are waving at me, don't get me wrong I did wave back i'm not rude, but i'm wanting to know the reason why? I think it is great any help would be appreiciated thanks

I used to do that and now just yank them from their New Beetle, shove my gun down their throat all while screaming "W A V E ! ! ! ".

It's very effective but the awkwardness that ensues while you are returning to them to their New Beetles is a bit uncomfortable. It's all worth it though in the end because I can smugly drive down the road in the after glow of "The Wave".

Kinda like the nod or waving while riding a motorcycle.. Its just something we all do.. I get these crazy looks while waving at everyone but I do alot of my drivin on my way to work at 10:15pm so that could explain alot of my weird looks.. lol.. But here ya go!!

I got a wave and smile a week or so ago, which finally ended my no wave streak of nearly six months! If I see any NB I wave.

There is this lady who passes me by nearly every day I'm driving home; she drives a pale blue vert and never has waved, even after we meet last year and talked about it. What is up with that?

I got a wave today I was in the Food Lion parking lot and an '06-ish nB passed by Cup and I. I gave her a wave and through her tinted windows, I saw here returning the wave in a lively style I might add. There's hope- don't give up!

I've only gotten 2 waves so far - but I live in the midwest - in a somewhat rural area... so people kinda are used to waving to each-other anyway.

HOWEVER - my job takes me to Wal-Marts nearly daily... the coolest thing I think ever happened to me was when I came back out to my car the other day... and I was surrounded by 4 other beetles! One was a vert and one was even a classic.

Too fun!

I feel bad now - I'll have to read up on what propper 'tagging' is, but I wrote "Nice to Meet You!" on the back of 4 of my business cards and left one uner a windshield wiper of each.
