Do you eat in your car? I never have in my Beetle...not even once. I may be excessive, but I want it to stay clean.

I set that rule originally when I first got the car. 1. because I wanted to keep the car clean. and 2. because there really aren't any good cup holders.

But now that I've owned the car for a few years that "newness" has worn off. And sometimes I'm in a pinch and I can't help it. I get stuck in traffic a lot and if I go tooo long without eatting I get really bad stomach cramps and headaches and literally sick to my stomach. So if a drive thru is near by, I'm going for it! That being said. I try to limit the amount of times I actually EAT in the car. I may pick up some food and take it home, but I do TRY to limit how much I eat in it.

Now, for long road trips (that I'm known for taking), well that just can't be helped! lol

When I was in college, I was driving 2 hours one way to visit my hubby (then boyfriend) at least once a month, and once my parents moved to NC, they were 1 1/2 hours away. Made a few trips to Maryland in her too. Now, she doesn't get used to much as the travel car since the hubby has his Accord for our trip car (its an auto, has cruise, power windows and a sunroof...I have none of those). But my parents are now about 2-2 1/2 hours from our house. I can't go that long without drinking something and at least snacking usually. Often when I'd leave from school to head to Raleigh, it would be around lunch time so I'd grab something easy from like Burger King and snack on the way (chicken fries are awesome to eat on the road...no mess and you're not taking your hands off the wheel any longer than just grabbing one).

I certainly don't do it all the time, and I don't do it hardly at all anymore. But I have. And I don't really mind doing it. Sometimes I just want to get where I'm going and not stop for 20 minutes to eat.

Took one of my girlfriends to the mall in Lady per her request, and as soon as she gets in she took an opened (but sealed) bag of Sun Chips out of her purse - they were out my driver's side window before she could even get her hand in the bag.

All I open in Lady is water, and that's only on long road-trips...

I think that was a little extreme. Why not just explain you don't want anyone eating in your car?

Because it was already explained to her multiple times before she got in the car, and she still did it. It was also the day before the cruise down to H2O, and all my major prep on the interior was complete... no time to re-remove the seats to vacuum that well again!

Haha! Not a huge fan of BK burger. And I never ate a burger while driving. Ever. Takes too much of my hands off of the wheel. I've been a passenger in my parents van or in the Accord and eaten one, but never driving.

Smokers can be that way as well. I once had a new car, not my Beetle, that I'd just told my passenger, "It's never been smoked in before." So, within minutes, he lit up!

sometimes there is food in Daisy - but as of a few weeks ago, food has been banned in the backseat (my bf's kids are the most common occupants and the muffin crumbs tipped me over the edge!)

Ugh! I've driven smokers before and all of them are considerate enough to ask before lighting up - I've even pulled over or delayed departure so that they could have a smoke.

Everyone who knows me well enough to ride in Lady knows well enough that she doesn't get eaten in, doesn't get smoked in, and is always meticulously detailed... that's why I have a daily driver!

I laughed when I read that about the kids...

When my sons were small, I remember them once eating sausage biscuits in the back seat the next day after I'd done a really good cleaning, vacuuming, etc. After they got out, it looked like they'd been sitting on their biscuits rather than eating them.

I think if I had a different daily driver, I'd be more strict about eatting and drinking in Probie. But since he is my daily driver, I'm picky but not TOOO picky. There will NEVER be smoking allowed in ANY of my cars. Daily driver or not. I don't want that smell to stick in the car forever. Since I'm a non-smoker, I will smell it for a long time since I'm not used to it. But eatting, I allow that. I try to pick and choose my food carefully so that it creates as little mess as possible. If I'm driving, it's always chicken nuggets of some kind, but if I'm taking it home...it doesn't matter, I may munch on a fry or two on the way home lol.

That reminds me, I do need to do a nice interior clean...taking out the seats and all soon. Haven't done that yet...hmmm maybe this weekend...

exactly!! i am used to them leaving stuff behind (papers & toys) but the crumbs all smooshed in the seams of the seats....... of course now their dad & i tease them... we go to pick up food and we have a couple bites because we are in the front and know how NOT to make a mess

I do eat in Honeybug every now and then, but NO SMOKING. I don't smoke and my husband does (can anyone say GROSS???), but he knows he better NEVER smoke in my car. He can drive his own car if he wants to smoke, but at least I got him to quit smoking in HIS car when I was in it, too. His car stinks. In fact, I park in the garage, and he smokes in the garage. Since I don't feel I can ban him from another place, I always roll up my windows and close the sunroof. Wish he'd just quit.

Ugh, my friend smoked in my car the other day. I could have murdered her. Seriously considered pulling over and refusing to drive until the cigarette was out.

I don't let anyone eat in my car. Especially if it's moving. But I have eaten in it a few times when it was unavoidable.

I almost NEVER eat in Fiona, except on long road trips where I have to eat, on the way to and from Vegas last week my bf and I did eat in the car but that is because it is a 4+ hour drive and we just wanted to get there, it wasn't too messy, she stayed clean but if I am just going to pick up food or am on my way home (which is usually the case) there is NO EATING IN THE BUG!!!! and my friends are never allowed to eat in my car EVER. Most of my friends are clean eaters but some are not and I don't wanna chance it because if I make a mess it is my fault and oh well, if they make a mess who gets to clean it up?? ME so therefore I banned eating, and only drink water, luckily I do have the swivel cup holders so it is okay to have other stuff but it stays in the cup holder until we reach our destination, I won't chance them spilling it all over

Smoking: DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!! I only know a couple people who smoke and they know darn well there is absolutely no smoking anywhere near Fiona, her seats are cloth and that stench will linger forever, plus I can't stand smoking. If they want to smoke they do it as we walk to the car and put it out like 5 ft before we get to the car or they get to the car.

I'm always guilty of this, as I practically live in the car. I know the Jeep definitely was always a mess... good thing I bought a shop vac last year!
