Default Thank you, Georgia!!!!

As some of you known, I was going to Florida on vacation to spend some time with my dad. Well,
things have started off with a bang. As I was driving down I95 south, where all the constuction is,
I tried to cross over two nice new concrete bridges, tried to. I guess the GA DOT can't see because
the bridges are higher than the pavement. Neadless to say, I have 3 bent rims, 1 flat tire and noizy
wheel bearing. Now I'm stuck in Jacksonville with no car. Yea!

I did contact State Farm and they said it would be covered under collision. They have to write it up
as a 1 car collision. Still have to pay the deductable, though.

ugh that sucks! I'm sorry to hear that. the construction around here is awful! And they don't even do it right. They'll put large metal covers over things, they don't build UP to a road, they just put a sign that says "bump". I bent my wheel on a pothole that had been exposed for a LOOONG time, and then like 2 days after I hit it and bent the wheel, they patched it...go figure!

Hopefully your deductible is cheaper than the repair would be to make it worth it. I know wheel straightening is usually no lower than $125 a wheel. And then the cost of a tire and wheel bearing.....man...just awful. Make sure your suspension components are ok too!

ANd PS, Sorry about your wheels. Fortunately, State Farm is one of the best insurance companies. They should pretty quick about getting you taken care of.

I just got back from the mechanic. He's putting in front wheel bearings, free alignment, four wheels
and tires.......$1400. Two front tires were shot from driving the last 200 miles out of alignment.

As for insurance... State Farm is great, except in S.C. When I moved there from Ohio, my insurance
tripled. So. I had to raise my deductable so i could afford it.

Ouch. I once moved two blocks South and went from technically being in Edmond (a suburb) and was then in Oklahoma City. My insurance went up like $40/mo. I feel your pain. Sometimes it makes no sense how they raise rates.

Wow, now you need to post pics of the new wheels $1400 isn't bad for all you got. I've been tempted to talk to my insurance about the wheels, since I know 2 ARE bent and the other two might be....but I just can't afford the deductible right now. So I might just tough it out.

And I agree, you're in Jax. Give scaraby2k (Al) a buzz. I'm sure he'd love to see Fiest and his new owner

*edit* Contacting my insurance company now...if I could get the wheels straightened and maybe new tires....for the deductible cost...it would SO be worth it! *edit*

Omgoodness!! I hope all is well!! I hope you can also still come to the gtg.. I was so looking forward to meeting everyone.. I have seen so many bugs in Sumter here lately and no luck with waves or even smiles.. I am soooo sad.. But do post pics of the new rims and tires and I do not like how rates went up for us either since we moved from TX to SC but we also have Geico..

I should still be there. Feist is sporting a new pair of shoes. The mechanic couldn't believe I made it
that far in that condition. The front driver tire went flat when i pulled into the parking lot. It just
sucked not having a car to drive on vacation.
