If you are on my fb you might have seen my post yesterday, if not, this is what happened.....

So I had an interesting day yesterday, went to a SoCal New Beetle Club GTG/cruise and was having a good time. Well there were 6 of us, the first 2 (me and the leader) went through what was supposed to be a blocked off road which no one was directing us to not go through, we turn around and drive back out. As we drive out one of the cops pulls behind the carabugavan (hehe I like that word Al, had to steal it ) and I thought "oh crap they saw my brake light out, I am going to get pulled over"

Sure enough, we get onto the main street and the cop pulls beside the group and gets behind me (I am the 2nd car in the carabugavan) and turns the lights on. Everyone was asking why I was getting pulled over, well it wasn't for my brake light. She pulled me over because my tint was "too dark" and she "couldn't tell if I was a male or female"

First of all, my tint is the legal limit for California, I checked before I got it done. Second of all, we all think she was just pissed because no one was paying attention and let us through so she targeted one of us which happened to be me. Third, she took FOREVER in the patrol car looking up my stuff, it shouldn't take that long, I have no warrants or anything on my record.

Then she comes back and tells me to tell my friends that their tint is too dark so she doesn't have to tell them. WTF?? She didn't even give me a warning, she gave me a fix it ticket which I am going to fight tomorrow. Oh and I will have a pic up of Fiona's front end with the cop car behind her and the lights on.

See, she is a rebel with her too dark of tint NOT!!!! That lady just had a stick up her and wanted to take it out on one of us...grrrrr it is quite frustrating but I am laughing about it.

That's so maddening. I had a NY state cop stop me for running a red light years ago (the early morning sun was shining directly at the light and I couldn't tell what color was lit!) He was so ticked off he was looking for other things to ticket me for!!!

I hope they cancel the ticket for ya!

Lance asks: did she put up the tint test strip to test if it was too dark? He said if not then you have a clear chance on winning.. (He is a reserve Sheriff Deputy here)

No she did not peanutsmom (sorry I forget your name ) she worked for the Sheriffs department, my boyfriend works for LAPD and said to take it to my local police department and just ask them what they think, I could also get a note from my eye doctor because of my glaucoma it is hard to see without tint because the sun is too bright

I was a nanny driving my employers' suv at the time and the rearview mirror had come off the windshield, so the cop ticketed me for that. I had the toddler in the car seat in back and he was all like "it's a good thing you have her strapped in."

He thought I'd tried to get away from him, but I didn't see him right away (no rearview) and then I was hesitant about stopping in the middle of the road (no shoulder). He seriously was looking for anything he could site me with.

I really do appreciate police officers, but the power trippers are so awful.

Carla is the nameo.. lol.. I would see what they say and kinda sounds like they were profilling.. I used to get pulled over all the time when I have my Eclipse because another girl who looked like me also had a car that looked like mine (but non turbo) did alot of shady stuff.. So I got pulled over alot.. Maam your radio is too loud (didn't have it on), your windows are too dark, you didn't use a turn signal (I always use my signals), and so on.. lol.. I got used to it after a while.. But do check into it..

Probie has gotten me pulled over for stupid things!

1st time was an out headlight. It had JUST happened that morning. And the officer (my neighbor), wrote me a warning. Nothing else

2nd time was for my temporary tag. Cop didn't believe it was official because it was for 90 days. Well I was waiting for my vanity plate and they said to take off the old plate and put this in the window...so I did. I even drove to ToD like that last year and no one stopped me!

3rd time was because of my license plate FRAME. It was covering my "Gwinnett County" sticker. The cop asked "are there any illegal drugs or weapons in the car I need to know about?!" Seriously!?!?! Come on! Want me to fold down the back seat so you can search the whole car?!

What's ironic is, there are things about Probie that could actually get me a ticket. But I've never been pulled over for ANY of them. lol *knock on wood* that it never happens!!!

Fiona needs a tattoo now...cause she's "bad"!

Default I got one better!

I have a better one for ya'll, when i was going to pick up sterling here locally in my hometown i got a ticket going 120 in a 70. told the cop i just bought the car gave the paperwork, did not even look at it, wrote ALL in the incorrect info on the ticket. had my middle name as my last name lic. plate was incorrect that went to a 2004 beetle the wrong lic. # off of my drivers lic. and it was a nightmare.

Now i have a fix for the too dark of tint. just get a letter from your dr. have him write a letter on his letter head have him sign it saying you have to have dark tint due to the light being so bright or something like that and keep it in your glove box, so next time a copy pulls you over whip it out. that is what i have in mine because MO can only have 35% which is legal on ours and mine is at 20%. knock of wood have not been pulled over yet......

Default Thats so wrong

See this is the reason I dont like cops.. I have NEVER had a cop help me !! I have only had them harras me and give me tickets. Since I was a firefighter and their is a natural rival between the two. Plus MO is a concealled and carry state, so if someone wants to go there I am always packing heat. So really no need for the cops that steal our tax dollars driving around in their SUVs NOT NECESSARY AT ALL, and chargers.. Really do you need those expensive cars? Now they wonder where all the money went. I have know many cops as well from being in the police explorers when I was younger. The guys that ran the explorers unit actually stole a light from me. I was a teen that is soo wrong. SO in my experience they all just harras and make your life worse.

Hope you fight it and you should its bull sticks... .

LoL ironically Georgia has one of the WORST tint laws. Anyone, and I mean ANYONE who is in Georgia and has tint darker than 35% can get a ticket. Doesn't matter if your License Plate says Georiga, Florida, Maine, Washington...doesn't matter. You cannot have tint darker than 35% in the state of Georgia even if you are just visiting or driving through. Stupid I know. Best part about it. I have 20%...and most people have DARKER than that!

Wow, that sucks!!!! 20% is pretty dark, my back windows are 15% which is one shade shy of limo

Front is 35% so I don't know what the problem here is but oh well
