Default Driving my drum set to the gig in a BEETLE!

You can see by my username that I'm a drummer. Just wanted to share with any other musicians out there that I have been driving my NB to gigs lately, WITHOUT folding the back seat down! There's a surprising amount of room in these little guys. I move the passenger seat all the way back and put the drums there (small jazz kit, drums stacked in one bag) and hardware and cymbals in the trunk. Sweet! Probably not going to get my regular-sized 7-pc. kits in there without a cutting torch, but that's what trucks are for.

It IS surprising just how much schtuff you can fit into these cars. It doesnt hurt that it has a very high ceiling and it fairly wide.

Sweet! I'm a drummer myself. Been mainly on the keyboard side of music for what seems like forever, but I still do my thing. I concur- our bugs hold a crapton of gear. Here's a pic to prove it.

Jer, you've got to post up a pic bro; we've got to see what you're working with

Keyboards, stand, PA head, monitor, prior to being covered for transport.

Pic: next time I pack it full I will snap one. Hey, let's do a gig together sometime... Only Beetles allowed.

So what kind of stuff do you play? And how often? For me, I play in several local bands; rock, jazz, and funk/fusion. I usually have 2 or 3 gigs a week around town or neighboring towns. I can't take the NB to all of 'em, but using the Bose L1 as a PA sure helps!!! Also, for most of my jazz gigs I use a cocktail kit, meaning there's no bass drum... there's an inverted pedal that hits the bottom head of the floor tom. That's a tiny kit and easy to cram in the Beetle!

Tell on!
