Sweet Pea got waxed again today, and I started the long process of cleaning the brake dust off of her wheels.

Covered her, since her window is stuck down.

Stupid VW window regulators!

Well, Dominion got a bath and then an unexpected snow storm ruined it all time to wash off all the salt!

Just put 34 lbs back into a saggy front tire, logged back onto here, and actually posted something for the first time in a month (put a picture or two up). As for the legendary 2nd most famous beetle in Richmond, I am contemplating a restoration project of sorts, since (as some new pictures I'll go take now) Matilda (did I really name it that?) could use some help.

It's nice to be back...I guess. A whole helluva lot has changed.

Default Newb to the NB

I had the day off, so took the trunk apart in my two day old new to me Beetle to look at the spare and found water intrusion and mold everywhere under the rear carpet. So spent the day ripping out carpet...cleaning...and drying out the rear of the car with a heater along with removing, sanding down, and repainting all the rusty bolts that hold the rear plastics in place. Oh, and removing the color inserts in the rims.

Color inserts? WHAT COLOR??? You must have a Color Concept! Oh, and Welcome to the Org!

About your wet trunk.... you probably have the dreaded leaky third brake light, so check that out so it doesn't happen any more.

Good luck!

I noticed that one of Sweet Pea's tires was starting to go flat today, so we went to Autozone and bought some fix-a-flat, then to the gas station to air it up. We have an appointment tomorrow to get some new tires. I also washed and waxed her again today. This time I used the expensive wax(Zymol). After that, I finished scrubbing the brake dust off of the wheels. I think I got most of it off, but it was starting to get dark outside when I was finishing up.

bought (4) Pioneer TS-671-M speakers for a speakerodectemey scheduled for tommorow, and finally picked up an iPod FM transmitter for when the job is done. Resoultion for 2011: one necessary or two non-necessary improvements to the Beetle each and every month. There's a lot to be done. Pictures will follow, provided I don't get lazy...which is likey...ok Resolution No. 2.........

I started fitting Robbie's new suspension:

(I know it's the wrong side for the caliper... just test fitting with the nearest one to hand)

I put the top down yesterday!! Only to make cleaning the interior easier. She also got a bath, new wiper blades, new air filter and fluids topped off.

Now if I can just figure out where to mount the PhatBox instead of leaving it on the rear seat...

Sweet Pea got waxed again today. With the amount of road salt that they use on the roads around here, you can never have too much wax on your vehicle!
