Talking Finally a Beetle of my own!!!

Well...after purchasing a CG Beetle for my daughter (2001 w/ 13,000 miles - gotta love little old ladies and their under driven cars), and a new 2010 TDI Jetta sportwagen for my wife, I finally found a 2003 Turbo S for myself.

I have been searching for quite some time and pulled the trigger last week. It has 70,000 miles so I brought it home and parked it until I can do the timing belt & water pump. Very hard to walk past it in the driveway and not take it for a spin.

Thanks to the extensive DIY threads I managed to do the timing belt & water pump on my daughters car myself, so I am looking forward to doing it on the Turbo S.

(FWIW ECS Tuning is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. Unbelievably fast order processing & shipping!!!)

Neighbors are starting to ask if I might have problem...two Beetles & a Jetta in the driveway!!!!!!!!!!

I am definitely up for St. Auggie 3.0. I will do a search for the dates.
Scarab I grew up in J-Ville and still have lots of family there.

My daughter is pretty fired up to attend a GTG as well. She wants to caravan with other Beetles, as She has the "Bug" almost as bad as me. She has wanted a Beetle since she was a little girl, so who am I to get in the way of developing unhealthy obsessions?

KCfoxie,

We did not get the glass roof. We bought the very first 2010 TDI JSW the dealership was allocated. The only option we were offered was to say "yes" or "no". No complaints though. It has been a great car so far.

Thanks for all the kind words. Hopefully I'll get a chance to upload some photos soon.

Anybody planning to go to the Pasco County Bug Jam?

I'm planning on making it this year. Cup's little quirks have been worked out for the most part, so it's looking good for me making it. How about you?

Not to stray too far off topic, but I had the chance to drive a loaded Sportwagen TDI with 6-speed manual transmission a few weeks ago. That car was flippen' sweet!!! All that torque with a manual trans!!! 150 miles of bliss....
