Default I couldn't protect him.

Last night... So, I left my car outside of my garage for 2 hours. I come back out to get my purse, and realize someone has egged my car. The entire passenger side was covered in eggs. I was so mad, I just sat there and yelled for a good 10 minutes. It was completely dark, and freezing cold, and to add to it, I had just detailed my car the day before. I washed off the egg mess, and by then was completely frozen. Dried him off and took him around the block a few times. pulled into the garage and sat on the floor, bawling my eyes out while claybarring him. My boyfriend came over and walked in on me waxing him, still crying, and apologizing for me letting it happen to him. I think I might be going crazy.

I do live in kind of a shady neighborhood, but really? George didn't do anything to deserve this. Our neighbor's house got robbed while I was on vacation in California. My roommate's truck got broken into a few days ago. They stole his head unit, bow & arrows, and his paintball gun. It's just so scary. I feel like I can't leave my car outside, and I can't even feel safe at home. What a sad world.

I feel like I was a target because I'm outside washing my car twice a week at least. People have tagged my car before, like wrote on the windows with window paint, but I've never had anything this malicious happen before. I have no idea what to do. After that happened, I was threatened on freakin' facebook. It makes me scared that someone is going to come to my house and beat me up. I shouldn't have to live in fear like this. :/

Anyone have any advice? I'm thinking an alarm system and a firearm aren't such a bad idea...

Driveway/parking space motion light. Camera, even if fake, aimed at the car/driveway. Make sure it has a little red light, to make it more convincing.

I am sad to hear of this pointless vandalism. But, just remember these two words:

Karma, baby!!!

The easy answer is to move. But I do know the expense and the time it takes to do so. However I would hate to live in constant angst over the things happening in your neighborhood.

I really would like to move, but that's just not an option financially right now.

I'm looking into an infrared camera right now. Only $150. It might be worth it at this point.

Considering the nature of your area and the issues that you and your neighbors were subjected to, that 150.00 camera might be a worthwhile investment. I hope these vermon get caught and punished accordingly.

Randi, sorry that you and George had to go through this. Glad that you were able to clean him up.

I'm forever baffled over the lack of respect, decency and humanity some people possess, or the lack thereof

A more suttle approach cheaper than moving and a little more intimidating. Just carry this outside with you every time your out washing your car. Think they will get the point

Seeing how its Halloween weekend, pranks are being done everywhere...just the nature of the beast.

Look on the bright side, at least it was only eggs and not a cinder block through your window.

A used handgun and a box of cartridges is cheaper and makes a better point.

Yeah, it's such a downer feeling when something happens to your car. I live in a good neighborhood and it happens here. it happens everywhere. I dont' have a garage and have to street park both my Veedubs, my NB and '65 squareback. The squarebck has been broken into twice, once to steal the stereo and the other time they just ransacked it looking for? Another time my cover was stolen. I decided last year when I bought my NB that I wasn't gonna do too much in the way of customizing and just adding anything cosmetically nice. I did buy a custom cover for her though. Well, that didn't last. Someone lifted it even though I had it cable locked on. I now use a cheap generic cover I purchased at the auto parts store. One rainy night someone stole my magnetic business signs from my car. Why? Anybody's guess. I replaced them with permanent vinyl graphics. I now realize that it is pointless to put alot of money into a car if you don't have a garage. Period. Someone will come along and either steal something off it or just vandalize it in some way. It's not getting better, because in tough economic times, the criminally inclined will steel more things to sell on the street. Moral of the story, we just have to be more careful, as sad as it is.

First thing is to relax. Although I realize it's a pain in the azz and a thoughtless act, it's only eggs and was probably just neighborhood kids with parents who did shrooms..lol. The easy answer is simple...keep the car in the garage...especially at night.
As for FaceBook, use the filters available to you!!!! Your friends surely did'nt threaten you so it had to be someone not on your friend list. Limit who can contact you or see ANY of your information to FRIENDS ONLY. Good luck....now breath!

this happened to my sister too, while she was still in high school she was driving luci(90 celica) and someone decided to throw and egg at him. and she didn't get the egg off in time so it totally ruined the pain...i hope that it didn't ruin ur paint...a motion dection camera/lights is a great idea...my ucnle had to buy one cuz his neighbor kept breaking on to his cars...and he hasn't had his cars broken in too since...and luci had his antenna cut off by the same neighbor

I am so sorry.. Smurfette has to stay outside until we get the ol stang running. No room in garage right now.. I do not have anything in her to steal and I leave my driver door unlocked so they will open door instead of breaking her window.. lol.. Windows are not tinted or anything.. They may break in just to steal her flowers though so I guess I better be careful.. I am sorry though.. You sound like me with the crying and apology and all.. Same thing I would do..

Im really sorry to hear about your George. Camera is a good idea and motion lights aren't bad either. Also a handgun does make a good point, a really good, loud point. I'm not sure what they said on facebook to you but depending on the threat, you can take that to the cops...if you want to go them involved. Either way, people just don't have any respect anymore these days. Sorry once again.

Wow..so sorry to hear about this! My mom's car got egged while she was driving down the road. Sadly even though she washed it off in time, the damage was done. 55+ mph and an egg thrown...caused some chipping of the paint that can still be seen.

I think you should alert the police in the area. Maybe start a neighborhood watch or something? I'm sure your neighbors are just as sick of it as you are, might be something to go around talking to them about. Not sure what the process is, but I find that "neighborhood watch" communities don't normally have a lot of "issues" because EVERYONE is watching! It's worth a shot.

Hopefully George is ok.

Well luckily, I had just claybarred and hard waxed my car not even a week prior to the egging. It hadn't been sitting for more than an hour, but when I had the car completely washed off, you could see where the egg had stripped most of the wax. I'm pretty sure the paint was unharmed. Nonetheless, it was annoying having to wash the entire car with dishsoap and rewax it after washing it with car wash soap. It was a long night.
