Finally getting a few waves after owning our silver beetle for 3 weeks now. Seems like everywhere we go and see a beetle on the road we get waved at. Which has me puzzeled. When we drive the blue Beetle and wave at other Beetle drivers we get nothing but scared looks. and nobody wants to talk to us. I don't know? I guess the cars do make a different impression on people.

I wave at everyone!! I scare some people but I don't care. If you have beetle love then you will understand, if not then I feel so sorry for the non loved beetles out there.

When people see the blue Beetle their senses are so overwhelmed they can't muster a response. All you get are a bunch of slack jaws.....with maybe a Wow thrown in here and there.

When do we get to see that silver one?

I'm going up to Chanute to meet Danny Saturday. You guys should make the drive up with us.

Not a beetle owner (yet) but we have the same reaction with our Miata. We always wave and smile at other MX3/Miata owners and most of the time we just get a deadpan response.

What's up with that?
