Red face Missing Key Near Miss!

Ok... so very special moment today (special in a bad way!!)

I went to the supermarket and only took my wallet and key for the car with me rather than my whole handbag - and proceeded to put the groceries in my little beast.

I put my purse on the passenger seat of the car and then proceeded to put the groceries in the boot - but was having issues doing so whilst holding the key.

So in my infinate wisdon I put the key on the bottom rim of the boot - there the clasp is - thinking that even if i was silly enough to close the boot the key will stop that from happening - well several minutes later i proceed to close the boot - with the keys in it!!

Key PANIC set it - and all i could think is bugger (well i thought swear words but don't wanna type them here!!) - i didn't even bring my mobile phone, I cant call anyone... WHAT DO I DO?? - then instant relief when i remembered I had already unlooked the car doors and can open the boot from the drivers door!! Thank goodness I hadn't key locked that!!

Lesson learnt THANKFULLY not the hardest way...

Lucky!

I have to be careful, as my new-to-me 2002 NB has a gremlin. It will lock itself if I don't start it within a certain amount of time, after unlocking. I jump in and start it fast. And I always have the keys on me when I open the trunk (boot!)

Wow! Lucky! I have the 30 second delay if you don't open the doors. But anyways even if the doors are unlocked and I have the trunk open then close the trunk the doors will lock! This is in my vert. So I would up poop chreek without a paddle! Lol. Seeing as I don't have purse or anything else I would have no need to open the doors before the trunk.

I've done that before, except my doors were locked

I had been grocery shopping at a few different places and was tired, not thinking, I set my keys on the cargo cover in the trunk, put the groceries in and closed it. I hear the beep of the alarm and think "oh no!!!" luckily I had my purse on me which had my phone in it, I had to call auto club to come unlock my doors so I could open the trunk.

It was kind of a pain to open the doors (good thing my windows were open a little), the guy finally unlocked the door and the alarm was going of, I tried popping the trunk to get my keys and learned that the trunk won't open if the alarm is going off. I soon realized I had set my keys on the cargo cover so I had to climb in the back to get my keys.

What an ordeal!!! Glad your doors were unlocked, especially since your phone was in the car also
