Default i just got some beetle parts from a junk yard

here are the parts i got:
  • radiator fan assembly 175$
  • fog light 75$
  • fog light 75$
  • front lower fog light bumper 100$

do yall think my parents paid too much for these used parts?

now all i have to do is figure out how to paint the fog light bumper and put the fog lights in, plus re-wire them, and replace my radiator fan since i cracked it going into a ditch

You can get an aftermarket Fan assembly New for around 103 bucks. I actually have one new in box which I ordered but never installed since it turned out that it was the 112C Thermal switch which was the problem. New aftermarket fog light assys are usually around 50-70 bucks each and I am not sure about the fog light inserts. In your car it is easy to change out but on the 1998-2000 you would have to take the entire front bumper along with the fenders off the car in order to install a new one. In your case it should be a couple of bolts and it should snap right out. They improved the design in 2001.
Good Luck! I would help you if I were closer.

It probably is easier to remove the fan without the whole assembly. It is impossible to get the shroud and fans in all at once. If it is a OEM assembly that your parents got you you can probably just remove the fan that is busted and install the new one.
Good Luck. If you need help let us know. I may have to do a road trip
