go for it

I have an '05 hardtop with the 6 speed tiptronic, mine has 73,400 miles, it does have an issue with the transmission except it is 3 to 4 gear. When you test drive it, watch the rpms where it shifts at, for mine, it is about 1,000 higher for 3-4 as compared to the rest, it also seems to show up occasionally when slowing down for a red light.

I love my beetle and would buy him again without question.

So, the Dark Flint literally sold 10 minutes after I got approved for my loan from the bank. I am going to look at another 05 but it's light blue...still convertible, but it's a 1.8 t. It has 70k on it, but that's still not awful. I'm going today and if i like it, i will be a NB owner tomorrow afternoon!!

That stinks about the Dark Flint! But personally I think light blue is AWESOME! The mileage isn't bad at all! Best of luck to you - can't wait to see pictures.

I found a few that are a couple hours away from me, but it's not that incredibly important to have the Dark Flint...it was just reeeeeaaaalllly cool.

I'm getting the blue one after work tonight

Congrats! You are going to like the 1.8T. Quite the little power house for a small engine.

That car is BEAUTIFUL. Hope you get it!

I have an '06 TDI with the auto DSG. I have 115k miles on mine, and haven't had any problems whatsoever with the transmission.

I do have the fluid changed every 40k.

Smile 2001 NB Love it

I just bought a 2001 NB with 107,000 miles and yes the check engine light is on as well as the brake light to tell me they need replacing. I just replaced the front brakes but the light is still on. Took it to Advance and they hooked it up and said it probably just got hot and will stay on. The only issue I really have is the interior peeling. I have read the post here and will be trying different things to take care of that. I did research on NB for 6 months before I bought. I LOVE My Votrex Blue bug. I also have a freidn with a 98 NB and his check engine light goes on and off also. Go for it you will love it.

You need to hook the car up to VAG-COM. Also, what was the CEL code(s)?
