Picking Your NEW NB Color and Name

When I bought my first NB in 2002, the convertibles were just coming out and I drooled over the aquarius blue one, thinking that is THE color I would get "someday" - and every time I saw one on the road, it was "that's what I am going to get".... This year I started seriously looking at VW's website, pricing the aquarius blue NBC and the shadow blue caught my eye, and I wanted to see that in person.

A ritual my husband & I have is to drive through the VW dealer's lot from time to time and just "look". This past Sunday they had just put out the SALSA RED NBC and I was like "Stop the car" - I had to get out and look! I told my husband I have to come back and check that car out. The next day I test drove it and it was all over - I never, ever thought of myself as a red car person, but I totally fell in love.

So it's like .org people say "your NB chooses you"...

Now I am bouncing around on names, sort of like the color, it's Rosita or Ruby or Rosie and then Rosa - so I am thinking the name will come, just like the car did!

I never knew having a NB Convertible could be such an awesome experience!

My favorite color is blue, so I figured I would find that color I got. I had driven a Batik Blue NB and really liked it, it was very pretty (I still love the color!). There was some other place selling a Uni-Red that looked nice in the pic, but seemed too expensive. My mom tells me "it won't hurt just to check it out. You'll know the car you want to get when you see it." I drive down there and as soon as I turn the corner to the dealer, the NB was sitting on the sidewalk and it just screamed to me. I knew immediately, THAT was the car I wanted!

What color is your interior? Top?

Your story sounds much like mine - don't ya love it when a red nb follows you home??

Mine has all black - black top, black leather interior - and it is stunning together - with the chrome trim... I have non-Beetle lovers (they do exist) telling me what a sharp car it is. Quite a few of the 'guys' here at my work have said, I didn't like your yellow one, but that one looks pretty good!

i just got my NB today. i really wanted one of the older colors -- either a metallic orange or the red/orange (i believe it was sunburst orange or something like that?), but alas those aren't offered in the 06. so then, i figured i'd go with my old standby colors, black or dark silver. no black offered in 06, either! so i told the salesman my first choice was the silver, then yellow, then green. well. over a week or so, the more i thought about it, the more i knew i wanted yellow. as it turned out, they had ONE yellow NB on the lot that met the specs i wanted (basically, base model -- i don't like lots of bells & whistles).

as for naming him... he needs a few days to let his personality shine, but i'm thinking it's going to be either Jack or Ziggy. possibly even Javier... but we'll see what he tells me!

Yellow is a FANTASTIC color! Great choice And I love the name "Ziggy" for a Yellow NB -
