getting a few more waves!

well, i've had curby about seven months now and have been waving to other NB drivers since month two. 99% of the time, no one waves back, but a few weeks ago, i had a lady in a CG NB wave to me, FIRST! i was so excited!

today, i had TWO people in beetles (one old and one new) wave back to me and it was sooooo nice. kinda brightens my day. now i just gotta get them on the .org...

maybe all those people i've waved to in the past are starting to lighten up and wave back. score!

Man you are lucky. I am in a college town and whenever I wave to any NB owners (predominantly females) they give me odd looks like I am trying to pick them up while driving down opposite sides of the road.

Yup, I barely get any waves. Although i do get alot of waves from old beetle drivers, but thats a rare sight nowadays.

i've seen maybe two old beetles on the road in the past 7 months here. they really are a rare sight. and someday, i will own one..

We cherry red NB owners always wave to each other. About 2/3 of them are babes. If I weren't married, I'd put my cell phone # on a sign to wave at them.

While driving a couple days ago a guy in an older 911 (85-95 ) headed the opposite direction gave me a two thumbs-up through his windshield. I was so shocked I did'nt even have time to wave back. But it was cool, cool enough in fact that I called my wife and told her.

I stopped on the road the other day; some fellow in a karman ghia was pulled over, he said he was okay; and drove on down the road in my rear view mirror. I always pass this guy either on my way to work, on my way back; or both ways. I've been waving at it for a while; he's waved back once or twice... I bet next time he'll wave.

I don't get alot of waves back for the most part; I've even slacked off a bit and I'll just shoot them a peace sign anymore.

It had been a while since I got waves.

I've been having problems at work and on my drive home at the end of the week, I was just feeling really down. Then coming towards me is a black NB, and the guy driving gives a wave!!

At that moment everything else I was thinking about just was gone and I couldn't help but and wave back. It just really made my day!

This is something new to me. I only this last month began acknoledging other Beetles on the road. I don't wave though as i don't want to have girls thinking i'm being a dork. I have been giving a "thumbs up" with the thinking that it's a nod of approval instead of some other gesture.

I was stopped at a traffic light yesterday and a GORGEOUS snap orange stopped right behind me so i grinned real big in my mirror at the girl. She was pretty so she probably thought i was being creepy. I just sped off and went on my business. No harm done.

I'm going to continue saying hi to them though. maybe i'll make some friends somehow.

We were in my bf's Xterra and I saw a baltik blue with roofrack pull into the parking lot we were waiting to turn left from. I leaned over him and waved at her, she almost rear ended the Audi infront of her glaring at me as if to say "why are you paying me attention mortal fool??"

However, the green bugs *usually* wave back. Unless they are snotty Meredith College girls who just don't care... tho leaving their campus after recording Figaro yesterday some girls WALKING around campus waved at me!

yeah, i've gotten that look before. i never wave at other NBs when i am not driving mine. it's bad enough my friends and family think i am a loon for waving to people driving the same car as me, so i try to make it as justifiable as possible.

I had a guy in a metallic orange super beetle wave at me the other day! That was one awesome looking beetle and he wasn't bad looking either!

About the only waving I get is the neighborhood kids, and I think that's only because they think my kids are in the car with me when they see me coming.

thanks! hard to believe it's only seven months. i feel like i've had him longer. i wish i'd had him from the beginning, so i could have enjoyed him before all the cosmetic damage. ah, dare to dream.

Ha, couldn't agree with you more about the Meredith girls. My mom was one of them about 35 years ago.

We had a few waves when driving back from the VW show this weekend - I'm often too scared to wave at the older bugs round here, as lots of them are 'air cooled snobs' but we were so hyped up after looking at all the cool cars we just waved and beeped at every VW we saw.

One of them - in a yellow new beetle waved, but with his thumb stuck to his nose... wasn't sure whether to be offended or laugh! (So I laughed )

while we tooted around town first day with the new NB, we passed a Yellow, a Shadow Blue vert, a Ghekko and a Reflex Silver and not one waves back... ha, snot city here we come (I don't care, I'm waving anyway)

I've been seeing a lot of bugs around here lately and no one waves to me! I did get honked at by two truckers the other day though
