Since my purse lives on the passengerseat going and coming from work, I'm glad the European NB's don't have this 'seatbelt dingy'.

I love this feature, since I usually forget to close the sunroof. Even with all the windows already closed, the key toward the hood will close the sunroof.
Did they just switch it? I have to hold mine toward the trunk to close and lock, and toward the hood to open and unlock. It's been like that on both '99s that I've had.

The car must be getting senile...
Sometimes my door locks don't work either. Like today, the driver's side didn't lock once I started going. I got on the freeway, drove about 20 minutes, got off the freeway and stopped, started going again, then they locked.

Can't wait until all cars are like the Lexus GS350 (I'm sure they are others too.) Just have to have the keys in the area to unlock and lock your doors, and start your car. My aunt keeps her keys on the seat all the time!! Sheesh!!

So... I was hangin with my alkiholic friends out here in Mexico and suddenly one turns to me and says: "dude I didn't know this was a drinkin car. This was actually pretty cool of Volkswagen to include a shotglass with the car" I was like what the hell are you talking about. Suddenly he points at the BudVase I had removed it for I can't remember what reason. I never really looked at the bud vase as a shotglass, but leave it up to a drunk to spot that. There you have it not quite a "secret" just another use for the bud vase. When in need of a shotglass pull your bud vase out

Cool Thanks!

You all have been so helpful! I am a NB owner...love it...and I am still learning the secrets! For instance...I had no idea the back seat went down until the other day...still have to figure out how to do it. ;-) LOL! I'll have to get out my book.

Default Bud Vase

Any ideas of what to do with the bud vase/bud vase area...instead of putting a flower in it?

Cool

Drill a hole through a wine cork, jam a dowel or pencil in there, then put an antenna ball or a pencil topper of your choice there (I put some visual mind game atop a black pencil in mine, looks great and NO FLOWER!!!)...

Not sure if anyone has noticed this, but after even if the interior air fan is turned to off, there is still a positive pressure which allows air to blow by. BUT... with the fan off, and the recirc button on, it stops it dead. Try it next time you are on the highway.. Turn the fan off, wait a second to adjust, then turn on the recirc button... you will feel and hear the air stop.

Neat feature next time you see a dead skunk...

Most cars do that. It's cause the air is still coming in from the vent under the window. Very nice for if you want just a little bit of air but not enough to turn it on

Is this is a feature on all NBs? I don't think my 06 has it.

Attach the seatbelts in the back before putting in the water (or anything else heavy). I have a 30 lb. dog who rides in the back (with a harness), but she couldn't possibly be seltbelted in like a child. I just make sure all the belts are locked in case she moves to a different part of the seat.

The salesman called it "the shot glass" when he went through all the stuff with us after purchase ha

Hmm My wifes new 06 AB Convertible has visors that move to the side. I checked driver and passenger and they both move, neither one has extentions, but if the morning or evening sun hit you right I could see how they work. She has actually had to use them, but she works nights so she always gets that morning glare. Only reason I knew she used it is becasue she never relocks them back in place after using it. So when I get in the car to train her visor remote for our garage door opener I noticed the visor was flopping around and not secured.

BTW- Great thread.

must give the vert the old style, to make up for the lack of the new, better than sliced bread, side window visor.
