Got another wave

Last Friday, I got to work, about to punch in, but forgot I had to go pay a bill, so i made a u-turn back to Cup and we went down the street to take care of business. On the way back to work, I was at an intersection/red light (University Blvd. and Spring Park Rd.). As I was waiting for the light to change, a Batik Blue nB was making the turn right past Cup and I. So as the blonde in the bug passed us, I waved. She looked at me with the biggest grin on her face and waved happily back! Awesomeness!

anyyyways hehe, there is a silver bug SOMEWHERE in my neighborhood that I will see occasionally and I always wave and she gives me weird looks and glares but I still wave. One day I'll get through

I've had quite a few comments/thumbs up from ppl in the past few months.

At the gas station when I was filling up a lady going into the store commented on the color of my car and asked about her, then said "man I still want a beetle....I should have gotten one back when they were cheaper..." :P Then two little girls in an SUV in front at the other pump just staring at my car.

Today an older man in a silver NB made a turn on a street ahead of me and we both just gave each other that big grin when we saw each other made my day!

And there's two young girls around here that drive a 60's model yellow beetle that I see all the time. I let them out in front of me out of a parking lot onto the road and later that day I was leaving another parking lot getting on the road and guess who was there? The old yellow beetle! So they let me out in front of them d(^__^)b


Other than that the only attention I got was thumbs up from a dude in a Chrysler Crossfire, a wave from a dude in a MINI Cooper and double thumbs up from a guy in an old Honda Integra that I FLEW by (speeding ^_^;; ) that drove by me the whole road until I had to turn off

I was next to another dude in a Porsche at a red light and didn't know that he had his window down, so when I saw him and yelled "COUSIN!!" He just laughed and waved ^_^;


All the people in Augusta that have NBs are soooo stuck up Everytime I see one and wave they just look at me and then look away.....

I was driving to my cousins house yesterday and I spot a Cyber Green NB ahead of me, I get closer because it is a red light and I look over as I always to do see if the person in the other car is paying attention and well this time they were

The girl driving was smiling and waving at me while the passenger was smiling as well but was probably thinking we were both nuts, anyway it was AWESOME!!! I don't remember the last time I got a wave and this time it was from a fellow Cyber Green made my day

Well silly me I started a whole new thread forgetting about this one..partially because it wasn't a wave but I will repost it here!

Alright so yesterday my boyfriend and I were driving back home from the sticks basically..north san juan which is past nevada city for those who live in California, and there are few bugs in this area..well so we are driving and I see a red bug coming up and start getting really excited because its another red bug!! and I have not really expected a lot from the bugs I see on the road because no one ever waves or looks or anything. So I start to smile at it and they honk at me!!! omg I got soooo excited because it was a fairly full car and a red bug and they honked! I hope they saw me wave at them haha I felt suuper cool and..yeah it was awesome. hehe thought I'd share

Not a wave, but still cool: Today, as I was waiting to pull out of Subway, a cool white NB drove by. I had the top down, and the lady in the cool white and I smiled at each other. This is the first friendly acknowledgement i've gotten from another NBer in the two months i've had Sally!

Gotten 2 waves in 2 days. Sometimes I see "mean looking" people driving NB's and I'm to scared to wave....its like they aren't happy to be in their NB. There are 2 types of VW owners, the VW nuts, (me) and the people who bought their VW because it was on sale....anyone agree

I also agree!! every single time i see a beetle coming at me I smile and wave frantically and 9 times out of 10 i get NOTHING!! I have only gotten 3 waves out of tonssss of beetles i've passed!

I agree 100%! Augusta has to be the capital of "beetle snobs". Over 2 1/2 years of owning my NB and only ONE wave from another NB owner, all the rest were from muscle/import cars :/

I was driving home from my bf's house and sitting in traffic spotted a Grecko Green beetle ahead, so I kept trying to catch up to see it and wave at the person. Well I caught up, looked over at the other driver, smiled and waved and guess what?!?!?!

Ugh!!!! I Completely agree with you! I just started working on a community college campus and there are tons of NB around. You would think there would be at least one person that would be in love with their car as much as I am, but NO, they all just think their NB is a car. There are some nice ones and then the other ones look like they have been through WWII! One of these days I am going to tag them, but I probably won't get any one new to the org.

I agree...

There are THREE other yellow beetles in my commuter lot (THREE YELLOW ONES) Plus a silver, a black, and sometimes a red one or two, and none of them are vaguely aware of the social implications and obligations that come along with owning a bug.

I hear you guys!! I've had my bug for three months, and i've gotten ONE smile...and it was only because I smiled first. I honestly think the lady only smiled back because she thought I must've thought I knew her, and was trying to be polite. The NBers around here are no fun.
