I don't get many waves, but if I go through a fast food drive-thru, all the teenagers have to come and look at "Cecil" and comment on his cyber green color! I get a kick out of it every time.

When I was at the dealership on monday, I met a lady that was getting her nb worked on (cel on for the 6th time) We started chatting about our cars. I told her about the org so I hope she visits. Her car was orange and named Clementine, I thought that was sooooo cute!

Talking I love waves, they make me happy

lets see what stories do i have so far:
I had a yellow nb drive by and wave when i was waiting to pull out of my sub, caught me by surprise because she waved first. Then last weekend I was driving on the expressway and I saw another yellow nb up ahead, so of course I had to speed up to get next to it and I got a nice friendly wave out of the gentleman driving it. Everytime I see another nb, i try so hard to catch up to it, I am going to get a ticket one of these days. lol I think someone in an audi waved to me the other day, but i wasn't sure if it was a wave or what?

I love this thread!

I have two stories to share. The first took place last week at WallyWorld. As I was exiting the parking lot, I saw a father and his kid (maybe 6 or so) get out of their NB and start walking towards the entrance. I stopped at the cross walk and let them pass by in front of me. As they did, the kid turned, saw Noir'a, smiled and waved!

The other story happened last night at Kroger. I was just there for gas, but when I passed by the entrance to the supermarket, a little girl walked by and gave me this... stare. As if she was super surprised that a boy was driving a Beetle... or maybe because when she first waved, I was looking at this hottie walking and didn't notice her waving. So, physically she was waving; but in her head, she was giving me the finger. haha, I dunno.

Good stuff, though.

AND, one more thing... last time we went up to the NASCAR race at AMS, a little girl saw Noir'a and said, "HERBIE!!!" ... that's my fav of all times.

Anyway, that was only my second wave initiated by someone else so I had to tell ya.
I purchased my NB in 98 and when ever I would pass other NB on the road we would wave at each other; even across the interstate median; it was like we where looking for each other!! It made the driving so much more fun!

If any NB board member was traveling up and down I-65 (TN thru KY from 98 thru 04) and someone in a Yellow NB waved, it was me!

On Monday a golf cart went past me at a 3 way stop in a subdivision. The husband, I assume, was driving and the wife saw my car and gave me a big goofy grin! I smiled back. I also got a big smile from a guy(40ish)driving a mellow yellow NBC, and a girl in a beautiful dark green OB. That was a very good Beetle day!

I guess I get about a 50/50 response to my waves... Not too bad, but my other vehicle is a Jeep Wrangler and my ex-husband drives Corvettes, so I'm used to getting a much better response to waves... When you buy a 'vette, you're actually instructed that you are required to wave at other 'vettes... I think that's very cool!

The beauty of the Beetle Waves is that no one is prompted to do so...we JUST DO IT!...

(but friendly waves are cool just the same...)

Over the last week I have received two waves - neither from a New Beetle driver - yes, both VWs - a Jetta as they were taking a turn and a Passat today. Now that work gets me driving to a new-for-me location I see a couple of the same New Beetles driving past - no response??? Oh well, I keep waving anyways I did manage to get things going with one of the other drivers I see pretty often - he returned a Peace Sign! and a couple of timesin passing, too!
I know I AM one of those cottenheads(nearly) but these cars are so fun, do those drivers just not GET IT??

to bring this one back...(im woodstock's son, btw)

Met a girl who goes to the same community college with me who drove a bright red beetle, 2.0, automatic, I purposely parked by the red beetle anytime I could for fun, and one day came back to my car with a note containing a phone number in red sharpie marker, lol...she thoroughly enjoyed taking a drive in my car though, lol.

I got a wave from an 06 NBC the other day at a stop light. I pulled up next to him and we both kinda just scoped each other out for a second, then I waved. Sure enough he waved back!

I get MAYBE 30% (positive) response from waves in the NB. At least it's not like the Cobalt community, everyone always seems like they hate each other. The Cobalt SS owners I've delt with aren't nice folks at all.

Default Hooray! Got a wave!

After a lot of disappointing snubs, my husband and I got a very enthusiastic wave from a lady in a salsa red NB! We were first in line at traffic lights and noticed a lady in her bug turning in front of us. At first she didnt see us, but her NB radar must have detected us out of the corner of her eye. We waved liked idiots, and she did too. Nice to see - made my day!Good for a laugh.

Cobalt SS owners are just sad that they're still getting smoked by SRT-4's.

A couple weeks ago a girl(maybe 10?)waved as she rode next to me on her bike - I was surprised but I think I managed a wave. Today I watched two boys leave a store with their mom and walk to their car(Audi, from same dealer) and the younger one pointed at Daisy and said something and all three of them stared at her. That was fun.

Talking 2 waves in 2 days!

This happened last week, but I was too busy to write it up. One day, going to visit my boyfriend, I caught up to a nice plat gray NB and waved. The guy didn't wave back, though so I continued passing him slowly. 2 minutes later, he caught up to me, looked over and gave me the 'cool dude' approximation of a wave. (When I told my bf this, he knew exactly what gesture I was describing - apparently it's a guy thing) I could tell he was trying hard to stay cool and not smile. I din't mind, and smiled and waved frantically.
The next day, I was driving back home, and caught up to a yellow NB. It was a blond woman, and she saw me right away, and gave me a heartfelt simle and energetic wave back. I was real happy to spread the NB spirit!
Side note: If I was blonde and didn't feel about the color red the way I do, I'd definitely get a yellow NB. Goes really great with blonde hair color.

Cool

On my way to work on Thursday, I was approaching a cyber-green Beetle at 45 mph. In passing, we flashed each other the "peace" sign simultaneously!! It was verrrrrry cool. I hope I get to meet her someday...
