My mom was at Starbucks at 7am this morning and she saw a lady and her daughter get out of their green(not sure which green since I don't have my mom thoroughly trained in the NB color area! )and she got in line behind them. My mom said "I like your car" to the lady and the lady really smiled and said she loves her NB. My mom told her about my car and mentioned newbeetle.org and the lady said she would come here! She was very enthusiastic.

gee I wish I got waves, everyone in the metro detroit area is just stuck up, they don't even look at me. Sometimes I wonder if I am invisible because I can't even count the number of times I have almost been hit, because people just don't see me. I mean come on, I have a bright yellow bug! how can you not see me.

I got a wave today!! I caught up to a Harvest vert and waved when I thought she was looking in her mirror and she waved back! I passed her but we were in deep traffic so I didn't wave again. I knew those ladies rocked!

I got a wave and a smile today too! I was driving into Centerra(new outdoor mall) where the speed limit is 15 and waved at a vortex blue going the other way. A girl about my age was driving and she looked pleasantly surprised I waved at her! She waved and smiled.

On another note: My mom saw a poor old light blue Bug towed away today with his elderly owner watching...

This is a funny one!

Every Monday and Thursday since I have been driving my bug, I pass a cyber green NB on this particular strech of road. I have waved every time that I saw it, but every time, the driver has been concentrating on something else and did not see me.

This past Thursday, I did not wave. But the driver of the cyber green finaly noticed me. He waved so hard to get my attention that he went off the road and into the grass! He was rubber-necking to get a good look at my bug! Fortunatly, it did not cause an accident, but it was close. I would have felt horrible if he would have wrecked his bug for a good look at mine.

So, today is Monday. I will wave at him tonight and see what happens. hahahahahaha

That's funny that he probably hasn't even noticed you at all, then when he does, he gets a REALLY good look!!

There is nothing better than the 160 mile per hour wave.

When you are cruising down the highway and you see another NB coming from the opposite direction and you both wave to each other as you fly past. I did that once driving in Illinois. It was the best wave ever.

Also, if I ever get next to another NB and make eye contact with the driver, I always flash the peace sign. I can't not do it.

Got a 90 MPH smile on Saturday, she was headed the other way ... I smiled and winked, guess she didn't see through my shades .... and I didn't get her Number in that split second ... Oh well.

I just got a new beetle and was wondering about this. I normally ride a motorcycle but I blew a head gasket and haven't fixed it yet. But on bikes this is a common topic as to who waves at who. Harley riders will only wave at other Harley riders and sport bike rider only wave at other sport bike riders and people like me who wave at all bikes. I had an 1970 bug and they waved at eachother. So when I got in the Beetle the first time I was wondering if there was the comradery. I have not even had another NB driver look over at my car. So I guess there is not.

I got TWO waves today!! Both were silver NBs. The first one - I was getting onto our main road through town from a side street, and a NB went flying by in the far left lane(3 lanes and I'm coming from the far right). Nobody else was coming, so I pulled into the middle lane and they signaled to turn left, so I moved over to the left lane, so I was next to them in the turn lane. I got a smile and wave from the driver, a girl, and her passenger(boyfriend?). I smiled and waved of course. The next one was at Sonic. They were already there and I drove in on the driver's side. Another smile and wave!! WOOHOO!!! My mom has officially declared me "obsessed with all things Beetles". She's said it before, but I think she REALLY means it this time!!

I got a wave today!
I saw a vortex go thru the intersection I was waiting to turn at. It took me about 1/2 mile or so to catch up. She got caught at a red light and I pulled up right next to her. we both waved and smiled to each other. We were both ginning from ear to ear. My daughter and her friend were waving too There was also a plat vert but she was too far away to see the wave
As I was writing this the tube was on and it showed cutie pie Orlando Bloom driving a NB! It was either yellow or white. It was on Extra. I knew he was a smart cookie
